I agree with you, but when Scott first opened it was known as Heroin High and drug U and had a bad reputation. I think many of the kids who went there then, remember Scott how it was back in the day and now have kids and assume its the same way, and its not.

I was an administrtor there and my kids graduated from there and I never heard that ever, not once. Scott is just a typical high school.

I get you will defend it (I knew you would) but I am telling you, when I went to school, thats what Scott was called, and when kids went to get drugs it was always from a kid that went to Scott. Is what it was, its not that today at all, but like I said, the kids that went to Scott when it was, are having kids now go through High School/middle school, and thats the reputation they still hold on to, specifically ones that dont live in the district anymore.
June 3, 20188 yr I would not know the truth, and it probably doesn’t matter what the truth is. The reputation is out there and that is what parents worry about. People who keep putting that “reputation” out there, without really knowing, is why that reputation continues to exist. And it does matter what the truth is, which is why I’ll continue to defend the school, and react so strongly to the misrepresentation that people continue to put out there. I get that I’m probably a little biased, but do a little research if you don’t believe. It’s really easy to find.

I went to Simon Kenton and never once do I recall Scott being called those things. I was active in sports and our cheering section was creative to put it kindly. We would've definitely used those names had they been common.

June 4, 20188 yr I wonder how this will affect the school athletically. Scott has had a lot of success in Volleyball, Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Track, and Baseball over the past few years. Football has improved. More students to pull from, when would the proposed changes take place? As someone else previously posted, all three high schools academically are all pretty equal.

June 4, 20188 yr see post below. Ok so the list that are attached are only the changes not the whole list. I think SVA has just under a 1/3 going to Scott now, so that will make it close to 40% is or more. Ironically this is the way SVA was back in the early 2000's when it opened.

Ironically this is the way SVA was back in the early 2000's when it opened. Yes. The file contains just the changes for SVA and Twenhofel middle schools. It gives current and projected totals for the high schools and elementary schools, but not for the middle schools for some reason.
June 4, 20188 yr The only complaint I ever heard about Scott High School was regarding the open classrooms. My younger sister and brothers-in-law hated the open concept and they were the first kids to go to the new school. Never heard anything regarding the "druggie" rumors back then. However, back in the late 60s/early 70s when I was in school a similar rumor circulated about Dixie Heights, which goes to show this crap can be started about ANY school. Rumors are just that.
