Highlands 33 Conner 0 (Frosh Championship)

I guess its a matter of perspective. You guys have never beaten Elder, yet you choose not to play them as freshmen. X has handled you the past couple of years, likewise you don't play them at the frosh level. Maybe if those kids got a taste at the frosh level, they would would have a little better chance at the next level. JMO.

I was at the HHS and Male scrimmage this year and the JV and Freshman teams destroyed Male..It probably doesn't mean a whole lot but it is what it is...HHS goal is not to beat teams three or even four times their size...Their goal is to "WIN STATE". I think their formula for success has turned out ok so far..:D

I don't know how they do it in Louisville but in NKY all Frosh teams play in two different leagues. One for A/AA and the other AAA/AAAA. If they play outside the conference then you have to put together a nine team schedule every year and that would be difficult. It's also financially responsible to play teams where you don't have to travel 2 hours to play a frosh game. I'm no expert on Ohio frosh football but I'm sure they also have league games that they must play. Beating X and Elder at the varsity level would be great but that's not the ultimate goal at Highlands. Their goal is to win the AAA championship every year and what they are doing at the frosh level has contributed to that every year. JMO

That's not realistic...

Well said! I was at that scrimmage too, and you're right. Our freshman schedule is working just fine for us!

Hats off to the Cougars. Good to see a strong class coming through the ranks.

You're right... the Male scrimmage doesn't mean a whole lot. If I recall Highlands was getting beat pretty bad early on (like 50-0 or something). So I guess what I'm hearing you say is that Highlands "comeback" late was at the JV/Frosh level? OBTW, our goal is to win every game. And in doing that you can't help but win state. Trinity's system seems to work "equally" well.

Please explain.

To not think HHS' goal is to win every game is ridiculous. However, the ultimate goal is to win a state championship, as it should be at all schools. You're simply looking for something that's not there...I have to admire the effort though.

Did I miss something? Didn't the Cougars get beat 33-zip?

No........There were three totally different games. HHS was down by 4 scores and lost by like 11 or so..This was just the varsity game....:D

bluethunder took care of that...not that you're listening anyway...

So you just figure you will never beat them? Wouldn't it be nice to actually beat Elder some year. Its been done ya'know.

Yeah the Birds beat them this year all over the field.. Unfortunatley though it wasn't a victory on the scoreboard.

You're showing your ignorance of HHS football. To not think HHS' goal is to win every game is ridiculous. However, the ultimate goal is to win a state championship, as it should be at all schools. You're simply looking for something that's not there...I have to admire the effort though.

It was pointed out that it didn't seem to matter that Highlands couldn't get over the hump with the Ohio teams. I pointed out that a team could do both. Highlands doesn't have a monopoly on winning, a number of schools do it quite well themselves.

I'm glad what Trinity does works for them. What HHS does works for them also..:D
