Field of Dreams

Aside from maybe "The Sandlot" I say that this is one of the best baseball movies ever. I can't turn the channel when this one is on. It makes me fall in love with the game without playing it. "The smell when you put the glove up to your face"; "the cool of the grass below your feet". I love this movie.

Field of Dreams is good too, would be in my top 5 for sure.

I've yet to see "For The Love of The Game". I've heard it's fantastic.

 

But James Earl Jones in Field of Dreams is really hard to beat for myself.

“For the Love of the Game” is ok. Kevin Costner just doesn’t look like a MLB pitcher, which drags the movie down a notch or two for me.

I would agree with that. One of the things that drives me crazy in sports movies, is that so many of the guys that play sports roles, simply look terrible throwing a ball or doing anything athletic.

Hollywood like Costner as a baseball player. He has played one 4 times.

Even Maddux weighed close to 200 lbs, about 20lbs more than Costner. At least Costner was athletic enough to pull off pitching, even though they still used a double for the long shots.
