Franklin Co. Vs Harrison Co.

Featured Replies

East gets the #2 seed by beating Bourbon this week, which they could probably do playing only thier JV.

The Franklin/Harrison winner gets the chance to play at East the 1st round while the loser travels to Lex Cath. I can only imagine how bad East's field will be in two weeks for the 1st round game.

Would Franklin rather have to play Lex Cath on a good field, and hope to catch the Knights off guard in the first round?

FCHS 37

HCHS 13

Franklin Co. wins big

FC needs to jump out early and get the lead...make HC play from behind. The longer HC hangs in and keeps it close the better chance they have of pulling the upset. Coach Graham always does a good job at HC and his teams are always physical and hit hard. Rain and field conditions could be a big factor and of course dropped passes have plauged the Flyers all season. I think FC comes to play this week and wins 34-14.

I know it is easier said than done, but IF HC can keep the receivers in front of them and hit them hard after the catch, and IF they can contain Ammons in the running game, and IF they can play a turnover-free, grind-it-out kind of game, then I believe the Breds have a chance in this one. If it does rain, as expected, it may benefit the Breds a little. Of course, last week against EJ in the Mud Bowl, the Breds fumbled several dozen times...so maybe bad weather may benefit the Flyers.

By the way, why was EJ's field so much muddier than all the other fields that hosted games on Friday night? Must have been a scattered thunderstorm that combined with a stationary front right over EJ's field for eight or ten hours. Not the first time that Harrison County has run into terrible field conditions at EJ. Two years ago the sprinkler system "accidentally malfunctioned" the night before the game and the field was a quagmire in the middle of a drought. Twice in two years kind of makes you go "hmmm."

The sprinkler system had malfunctioned the night of the FC game this year also.

The grass was very thin at the start of the season at East Jess. One rain would ruin it for the year.

By the way, why was EJ's field so much muddier than all the other fields that hosted games on Friday night?

I heard that East had a freshman or JV game on Monday, and 2 middle school games on the field on Thursday. Mix that with an already bad field and all of the rain we had last week and you get those conditions. Muddy doesn't do it justice, it looked more like brown soup from the highlights.

My understanding is that EJ is hosting the middle school district games this Thursday night. With the rain coming in I am sure that the field will be in tip top shape (not)

As well as hosting a band competition the saturday before

The sprinkler system had malfunctioned the night of the FC game this year also.

And was somehow worse on 1 side??Those funny rainstorms, only at EJ.

Franklin Co loses a close one to Harrison Co. The Thoughrobreds are true mudders in this one and win down the stretch by one.

FC will get the job done in this game.
