The misunderstanding over the District Titles has already started

Featured Replies

This is the wording at the KHSAA web site (@high/odd-even/low-high) for the Regional final. I take it that this has been different in the past. So because of the district playing in the home district playoffs games they change the regional playoff games home site? Why is my question? What did it matter after reaching the regional final? If Bullitt East were to have had another great season like last year and was to have won out to be in the regional final again at #1 seed in their district they would have hosted again in the playoffs anyone other than the #1 from the other district. Meaning they could have hosted two years in a row. I thought thats why they have always alternated every other year to prevent hosting consecitive years. Doesn't sound quite right to me about this season. Again why change this season?

Way to complicated for this old guy. I need one of those BCS computers to figure this out.

Another reporter confused about when the district championship is awarded:

Football: Fourth-quarter comeback keys Lincoln win

"Lincoln (9-1, 5-1) can clinch its first district title since 1994 by beating Madison Central at home this Friday."

It looks like he has Lincoln's record in error as well. The Patriots are 8 - 1 going into the MC game.

The regional teams travel no matter the seed, even district winners travel on odd years and odd district winners travel on even years. If there is a difference this year please explain!!! My under standing is last season Boyle Co. traveled to Bullitt East for the Regional final this year the Louisville team will travel to Boyle Co/ Southwestern/Pulaski Co./ Marion Co. area. Didn't Bowling Green host Bullitt East for the semi-finals last year as well.

1A and 3A are the same as always. In the regional championship, the higher seed hosts, and if the seeds are the same, it goes on an odd/even rotation. In the semifinals, it is on an odd/even rotation.

2A and 4A are different because of the blind draw. In the regionals, the higher seed hosts, if the seeds are the same, the odd district hosts in odd years and even district hosts in even years. BUT here is the different part. If seeds are the same and both districts are even or both are odd, then the higher # district hosts in the even years and the lower # district hosts in the odd years. Then in the semifinals, it is like it always is, they are played on an odd/even rotation.

KHSAA is really a joke, they are destroying high school football in the state of Kentucky. All coaches and A.D. need to get together and form a new high school athletic assoc.

Frankfort is in the catbird's seat, that is for sure!! Don't think that either themselves or Danville want to go to Bardstown and play either the Tigers or Bethlehem for that matter....

Lincoln is also udefeated in district play. This is the same guy that said preseason that LC would only win 3 games, guess his facts are wrong all around.

Saturday morning, would someone please tell me where I am to be on the following Friday night:confused: :D

Maybe he did his research. There will be a regular season District Champion and Runner-up

Not according to the KHSAA.

The district champion will be the team winning the 2nd week of the playoffs.

Wasn't there a thread last week in which someone posted an email from Julian Tackett or Butch Cope stating that the regular season was for seeding only.

So maybe you should check your facts.. sounds to me your going on hearsay from an email you THOUGHT you saw.

Actually the copy of the email is posted on another thread on this site. There's a link to it on one of the previous postings on this thread, it was from Julian Tackett.

due to the new format ...the in-district play ...district champions will be crowned Week #2 of the playoffs ....district "seeds" are established during the regular season ....1 through 4 ...as in other sports...
