Virginia 75 Louisville 58

Featured Replies

When the Cards clawed it back to within 4 in the second half I thought - if we could just end the game here. A 4 point loss would have likely done the trick.

But the fade to another poor game finish probably means NIT-bound.

I’m not sure I even want them to be in the tournament.

You just know Louisville is going to be one of the last four in, and paired up with Kentucky if they win that. :lol2:

I think things broke about as well as possible for the Cards yesterday in terms of other bubble teams. They need teams like Georgia, Mississippi State, and Oregon to not steal a bid and need a team like Nevada to go ahead and win the auto bid there. Those things happen, and it's likely they do, I think they still get in.

Louisville is getting killed on the boards.. Too many offensive rebounds specially in the first half. Mahmound with only only 5 points and 4 rebounds and Snider played 35 minutes with 3 Ast and 3 points. Spalding is the only guy who has shown up and left it on the court.

Sutton typically leaves everything out there and is the only one who aggressively boxes out. I didn't get to see either game in the ACC Tourney, but radio broadcast sounded like Sutton really played well against FSU.

Perry also plays very energetic but is a Frosh. He will get better. Love his defensive intensity (except with 0.9 seconds left :)).

*eyeroll*

Not buying it, my good friend.

As honest as I could ever be, I’m ready for this season to be over.

But to humor you, why don’t you believe that?

Middle Tennessee losing hurts.

Apparently Lunardi has louisville as the very last team in currently. If he is correct, these last two days have to work out perfectly for UofL.

What grinds my gears is seeing Florida State and Virginia Tech solidly in.

Every year I watch Virginia take the Cards to the woodshed twice and I think it's impossible that they won't make the Final Four. I've promised not to do it this year, but man they are just a finely-tuned well-oiled machine. I know its boring (and I think they get away with fouling with their bodies seemingly every possession), but with their athleticism maxed out, the Hoos play really flawless basketball.

As for the Cards, they have conditioned me to expect the worst and enjoy any fleeting success that occurs along the way. I'm hoping for a game in Dayton, but fully prepared for them to miss the tournament.

Cards are still 33 in the Kenpom...they should be in, IMO.
