I don't see how, but even if it was, there's nothing that can be done about it. Companies are allowed to discriminate as long as it's not against a protected class.

They can go to Joe's Gun Shack and buy their weapon. The Constitution does not guarantee anyone the right to buy a gun at Dick's.

I figured you and I would interpret it differently. To me, the 2nd Amendment states that the government cannot tell you that you're not allowed to have guns. It does NOT state that the government can't tell you what type of guns you're allowed to have. Just a difference of opinion.

 

I don't necessarily want to ban them, it just needs to be, AT LEAST, more difficult to obtain them.

This isn't infringing on anyone's ability to buy a weapon.

Dick's (and Field and Stream) aren't the federal government. They can make rules for themselves. If they want to set an age limit for selling sweatshirts in their stores, they can do that.

Your post did not mention anything about private business. You were suggesting restricting law abiding adults from purchasing a fire arm, since the 2A does not mention age.

I think it's a great move that a major retailer is acknowledging the fact that we can do something about the issues we're having in our communities. It won't solve the problem, but it's certainly a step in the right direction. Hopefully more follow suit.

FYI the Dicks in the Cincy area has already been doing this for several years. Dicks was just trying to sell a few more soccer balls today.

Why? It is up to the retailer to decide who the do or do not sell to. It may be legal to purchase a gun at 18. It doesn’t mean someone has to sell it to you when you are 18.

As I said in the other post every thing that only "adults" should be legally allowed to buy should be tied to voting age. Some want to make 16 the legal voting age, fine then 16 year olds are adults, they can join the military, they can but alcohol and they can buy guns.
