That very well could be true. However it's the same I say to people who say Dalton is better. We don't know either way. People look at 4 starts while having zero experience or even a training camp with 1st string and assume that is as good as he ever looked. When imo he looked very Dalton like. Besides for 2015 Dalton, how McCarron looked was very Dalton like. Except McCarron actually seemed more poise in the big games than Dalton has in big games in 7 years. So you would think McCarron would have only kept getting better each year with the more game experience he got. Which is why I wanted to see him play instead of Dalton. We know what Dalton is. Still don't know what McCarron is.

What big game has he played so well in the NFL to say he looked more poised than Daulton?? His one playoff start he was average at best.

He’ll end up somewhere, but it’s no sure thing he ends up the starter.

That’s not entirely true. Depends on what they do in free agency, they could get a compensatory pick. Just like with Zeitler and Whitworth.

You are correct. They'll probably get a 3rd round comp pick. He'll get a big enough contract to deem that so.

We have 7 years of data on Dalton in prime time and playoff games. I guess maybe we see different things. However with Dalton in those games he has struggled. In those games he seems overwhelmed and even seems to press and ends up not really making any plays. Even in 2015 Daltons best season his two losses before the injury were prime time games.

McCarron in his second career start on the road on Monday night with the 2 seed on the line didn't seem to press or fold at all in the moment. In fact went straight down the field and got the team an early lead against the eventual super bowl champs who had the best defense in the league before losing in overtime. Mccarron in his 1st playoff game which was only his 4th career start in prime time against the Steelers put the Bengals in position to win. Which the Steelers, prime time, and playoffs are all things Dalton is horrible against. Yet with the game on the line in the 4th quarter after not doing much all game. He was able to lead the team to 16 straight points for the lead. How many times have we seen Dalton bounce back in a game that he doesn't start off well in? Usually if Dalton and the offense starts a game off bad we rarely in 7 years seen him then find away to play better at the end. Dalton is a front runner, as long as things start off well he is confident, when things start off bad or go south he usually goes South too all gamd. We have seen that in all 7 years. McCarron in 4 starts did show more poise in those situations and showed ability to make plays when mattered most. Also the ability to bounce back even after not starting a game well.

Let's not forget Daltons 2nd playoff game against Houston. Bengals down 4 with 3 minutes left. Green burns his defender wide open in the end zone and Dalton over throws him by 3 yards. A chance to take the lead and Dalton misses him. McCarron with Green open to get the lead completed his pass for the td with 130 to go. McCarron in one playoff game has as many tds as Dalton does in 4. Keep in mind he did this without having all the experience Dalton had. So would think he would have only got better with more experience.

But i guess we can just agree to disagree.
