If it is just turf replacement, they can do that quickly so there might not be any loss of games. Although Dixie's first home game is set for August 17. Dixie's turf was badly worn down and definitely needed to be replaced. Not sure why they waited this long to do it, but it's a much needed upgrade.

There are UV treatments that can be done for that, but they're not cheap. If I had to guess, they weighed the cost of treating the field for contaminants against the fact that their turf was very near the end of its usable life, and decided to go ahead and just replace the turf now.

Yes. I thought they already got it, but maybe not.

The turf failed a test earlier this summer, which required it to be replaced. It's the main reason the all-star game moved.

I heard the tigers missed Brayden Burch

Well, C_W_B, not from an objective bystander. I was not there but someone who was there said that Beechwood got the better of both teams they went against, then Boone Co., then Dixie Heights. But it was close against Boone with Beechwood scoring one TD more than Boone. Hergott was at QB for the Beechies. I didn't hear much about Dixie.

 

That's about all I can tell you.

Beechwood will be a running team. They will be an all senior offensive line and probably the biggest line BW has seen in a long time. Three of the starters have started since their sophomore years. Beechwood will also have a big strong hard running fullback and good tailback in Castleman. They won’t have a problem moving the ball. The passing game will have plenty of time to catch up.

This was my thought exactly. Burch won back-to-back state championships. You can't easily replace that kind of experience. Not to mention he was smart and accurate.
