Just because its not what your used to in Ole' Putnam Stadium doesnt mean that its not okay. JC started this last year and it keeps the crowd into the game. JC's band has been on a steady decline every since the earlier 90's so no this has nothing to do with the low #'s. By the way, which was your favorite? Mines "dont go riding on the long black train.";) Oh by the way, no one has mention yet the new horn that was brung in. Sounded awfully familiar.

Your post begs the question. How does one distinguish between what one knows and what one thinks one knows?:confused:

 

It seems that people tried to answer your questions to the best of their recollection. Maybe you need to go to the next game and buy a program if that is not good enough for you.

Congratulations to Johnson Central. You have a very good team and it was a convincing win! Shawn Grim is an impressive running back; the Tomcats couldn’t tackle him. He got most of his yardage on 4 long scoring runs blowing off would be tacklers.

 

Ashland needs to regroup and focus on Boyd Co. and the playoffs now – try to earn our way back to a rematch.

 

I agree with you Graybeard,Johnson Central has proved that they can compete with anybody in the state,thats my thoughts.Shawn Grim should be a MR-FOOTBALL CANDIDATE,they just beat a good football team.Good luck to JC the rest of the year.

I stated earlier this week that I didn't feel that Ashland is a top-10 team, and the acccounts of this game give me no reason to change my thinking. Nor does it change my view that this is an impressive win for Johnson Central, which I think is knocking on the door for a top-5 ranking.

 

I agree westsider, Dino has more than a chip and should recognize that this is a real win for JC.

Such a great football team, wear what ever you want hang a stuffed cat on a pole those things are for the kids anyway I have no problem with it! When the game starts it should be nothing but pep bands an a lot of yelling an cheering, not the use of a speaker system except to call the game! I felt sorry for the band I don't remember them playing at all, No wonder they were so few in numbers! That game on friday nights is one place the band is supposed to showcase there talent but instead you showcase a set of speakers instead of the kids in the band? But I think the adults should act as adults an enjoy what a great team an season you are having! An you think you have to belittle the other team with those one liners? What a waste of time I enjoy watching quality football games an that was a really good team we saw last night, there is no need for it!! Enjoy your team and try to control yourselves like I said before act like you been a good team before!

 

This coming from a guy who's team sets off fireworks after every touchdown and has a cannon. I think this loss might have ruined this guys life from the way it sounds. Its a game, where people come to not only support their team but also to have fun. You are the one person out of many that is complaining about anything that went on last night. Ashland lost, and the PA man had nothing to do with that. Maybe if these two meet in the play offs the coaches from JC could be nice enough to leave their cheerleaders, fans, PA guy and music guy at home so it isnt unfair to ashland. Id say without the PA guy JC might have only won by 17 or so. Id call KHSAA Bad Cat, lets get an investigation going on this situation. haha. Congrats JC, you proved yourself last night.

I just wanted to take a moment to say that the Ashland fans that I had personal contact with were very classy fans. Some fans come in with a chip on their shoulder and won't even speak when spoken too. All the fans I met were very nice, friendly people I enjoyed meeting them. I'm sure they are probably some of the same classy posters on here. Ashland has a great program and a great group of fans.

 

I'm glad to hear that some of you enjoyed your trip to JC and found similarly classy fans from JC.

 

As for the music and PA guy. None of it is meant to be confrontational, just to pump up the crowd and make the game even more exciting. The JC staff has put alot of work into the atmosphere at home games and I think they've done an excellent job.

 

Also, Grim told me Coach Hart came to him after the game to tell him what a great game he played and congratulate him. I just want to say thank you to Coach Hart for being a class act(if some would pass that along for me). Also, all the Ashland players were very classy, respectable young men. Good luck next week Tomcats. Maybe, we will see you again in a few weeks.
