Also Ncc jumped out 17-8 early so rest of way from late in the 1st Newport won 51-31. Pretty solid win over last 3 quarters.

If Newport wins District they could get a good Region draw, possibly sneak into the finals.

 

What do you mean by “IF”? Lol! J/K people. Newport has a really nice team this year! Their kids really play together.....

A big win for Newport! They made a good case to be No. 3 in next week's ratings. They also showed they can win without Burries having to carry them. Impressive comeback for the Wildcats.

 

Per twitter, Burries lead all scorers with 19 on 7/19 shooting. (1-7) from behind the arc. 5 rebounds as well.

Had 8 points and 1 rebound at half time.

Harding won the game for them by being a rebounding beast and getting big baskets. Burries took a lot of shots and missed a lot of shots. He scored points, but Harding was the reason Newport won.

From the stats Harding didn’t shoot the ball well either he was 6/16 from the field him and Burries were both 37% from the field. When both of those two shoot the ball well this newport team is scary. Also if McGuire can play like he did last night they could make a run.

Brennan hall was also 6/19 this game so no one shot the ball well at all. Harding was just a beast on the glass and NCC couldn’t match up with him on the glass

I can’t figure out Newport’s offense. I’ve seen them three times this year and each time they never made more than three passes before shooting. Over half the time it is one or less passes and hen a shot.

For what it's worth... Luken for NCC was sick. Didn't start due to missing practice on Sunday. Couldn't hang with Harding late. 17 boards is huge. Hopefully they meet again.

It usually takes more than one or two players to win a game.
