How do the seedings shake out for district play?

 

I believe it will be:

1. Newport

2. NewCath

3. Highlands

4. Bellevue

5. Dayton

 

Newport will get Dayton. NewCath would get the Highlands/Bellevue winner.

Actually the first game of the tourney will be Bellevue versus Dayton. The second game of the tourney will be Highlands versus NCC. The third game of the tourney will be the Bellevue/Dayton winner versus Newport. Game four will be the district finals. Believe Highlands is the host school this year.

Did this district used to draw? Is this Newports first time winning the district since? (I don't think they won the district the last time they went to state)

There used to be a "draw". Newport has not "won" anything as yet, they still have to play the District tournament. As far as them winning the # 1 seed, yes I believe this is the first time that NCC has not had that honor since the seeding started.
