Me, too. I didn't have her for Math but she was good friends with my older sister and she would spend nights at our house. The boys both had her and it really mattered that she prepared them well for their careers. She's doing really well and works with a group of ladies each week organizing some of the oldest court records in Kentucky. Sorry, didn't mean to hijack the thread. Mrs. McGee was worth it.

Why can't someone wear 6-9?

 

The way I understand it,the restriction is based of the referee signaling to the scorers table after a foul is committed. He signals the players number who committed the foul by showing fingers on his hand. The ref will signal the first number, close his hand, then signal the second number with the same hand. The restriction is the same in college basketball,.. but not the NBA.

Retire the jersey not the number.

I think that it would be a great honor for a player that meant a lot to the program to have their jersey retired, just a small way the school can show their appreciation to the former student. However with the limited number of legal numbers I would have to agree with GrantNKY, put up the jersey but still allow others to wear the number. Doesn't Michigan University Football do something where they retired a jersey ever year but a player gets picked to wear that jersey? Kinda a cool honor for both current and past players.

A referee is supposed to be able to signal the players number to the scoring table. Therefore you could not distinguish between say 25 and 7 etc.

I think if a school wants to retire a number/jersey they should.

I know my aunt was inducted into hall of fame a year or so ago but I am not aware if they retired her number.

I don't see either # on the current roster so I'm guessing the answer is no.
