You are right this game definitely should be a classic and a real fun game to watch. Ludlow has been a little banged up the last couple of games, but I think the players will be able to deal with their pain with their playoff spot being on the line. Dayton has had a great season, and Im sure they will come out with alot of energy in trying to make the playoffs for the first time in awhile. Both teams have great coaches so it should also be pretty even on that front. I know last years game between these two teams went down to the wire with Dayton winning it at the very end of the game, and I look for another great game between these two teams this year. Ludlow just came out of a tough loss, but I expect them to come out playing alot better this week and will be able to find away to get the team back to the playoffs for the 3rd time in 4 years.

After playing Beechwood this past Friday, Dayton got real beat up as many starters left the game and did not return. This includes the QB.

I know that both teams are beat up some. I know Ludlow has some major injuries and issues at the LB position. Which should allow Dayton's QB to run, then throw if needed. But I know Ludlow needs a victory to help their playoff hopes. This should be a good game all around, but I just think Dayton's offensive attack will be too much for Ludlow to handle

Such as: I think Ludlow has a better receiving core and will have success in that aspect of the game. Not meaning to slight anyone, just my opinion.

Although i will be rooting for the Greendevils in this game.... it is always tough to play at Ludlow down on the river and I think the Panthers get into the playoffs with this victory. I predict 14-8 Ludlow.

Assumming that all injured players will be back in uniform and ready to play.......I think the game comes down to a few key points.

 

1. Can Dayton stop the multiple option out of the Ludlow backfield consistantly? It won't do any good to stop it for no gain two times and give up 40 yards on the third play. That will be a stiff challenge for the Greendevil defense because if Ludlow can get past the Dayton line and linebackers big gains could result.

 

2. Can Ludlow contain Dayton QB Hightchew? Lloyd couldn't as he beat them with the pass and his running. Even on third and 4 when you knew the ball was going to stay in his hands, they could not stop him. I see both teams being able to move the ball.

 

3. Turnovers/special teams. Lots of games won and lost on these two. Neither team has a defense that excells in take-aways and both offenses have a tendency to turn the ball over when faced with unfavorable down and distance. Neither team has a very good kickoff/punt or return team. I would give the edge to Dayton on returns and to Ludlow on kickoff/punts but both edges are slight.
