Beechwood vs. Holy Cross predictions

Featured Replies

Beechwood is only favored because of the tradition, not because they are that much better. A name can only take you so far.

As much as I like HC, I will say the Beechwood is favored because they are very, very good. They can be beat and HC has the team to do it but there is no questioning who the favorite should be.

To be tha man, you gotta beat the man (WOOOOO!!!!!). Holy Cross isn't the man yet.

Beechwood 28

Holy Cross 14

I've seen BHS play a number of times this year. When you stop the run BHS RB will fumble the ball and the QB will throw INT.. So, if anyone has watched BHS this yr., you have to agree. HC makes it's mistakes too, but seem to overcome them.

I don't know what games you saw but I think you are exagerating. Bankemper has 166 carries w/4 fumbles and Elliott has thrown the ball 90 times w/3 INT? I think. If you call that fumble itis and saying the QB will throw the ball up for grabs I will take those stats if I am the off coord.

It doesn't matter why they are favored, they are still favored. If a team is sooo good than it should not matter where the game is being played. The name Beechwood will take them farther than the name Holy Cross, at least on the gridiron and lately on the diamond.

You ? 2 TD's, I will say at least 3!!

I think Holy Cross hangs around the first half and then Beechwood pulls away after half. My prediction is Beechwood 35, Holy cross 14

HC fans have herd that same old noise every week about this team that team. But they are not 8-1 by luck. So get real they are not going to lose by 2 or 3 td's if they lose. All of these predictions are crazy, we will see one of the best games played all year by both teams.

And you know this for sure how???

No, but they definitely the two most evenly match teams in 1A this year.

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah. It's playoff time, and like it or not, it's a new season. In NKY 1A ball, the Beechies just about own the post season. With their experience and coaching staff, they should be the favorite in this game. I'll go with Beechwood by 17.:D

In all of 1A?

I think Beechwood does win this game...

Beechwood 31

Holy Cross 13

This could go on and on until next Friday night. Let's consider what I feel 3 important factors: 1. tradition 2. strength of schedule and 3. home field adv. How can Beechwood lose w/all three in their favor not to mention they are still the better team position by position!

HC has a great record and if you look at who they have played they should be undefeated, sorry NCC but you just had a bad night!

3ptshooter, you mentioned "strength of schedule". Who has BHS played that was so strong that they beat? 1st game of the yr they played a bad Dixie team, I would bet my right arm BHS would not beat Dixie now. CCH beat BHS34 -0, Alter beat BHS 16 -0, BHS beat a bad Lloyd team 38-0. So besides that, HC has played the same schedule. So don't give me "strength of schedule". The first 4 games are usually warm-ups to conference play. In conference play BHS, HC, and NCC has beat the same teams by the same margin.

My argument is, give HC a chance and don't live in the past on the BHS name. Ya BHS has X amount of state championships.......HC has not proven them self yet. So what, this is a new yr., new team, Without Yeagle BHS might not get the players BHS once got. I hear the freshman team is baaaad. HC deserves respect this yr of what they have accomplished. For such a young program, they have come a very long way.

SportsFan, easy. I have said in everyone of my post, just about, that HC is much better team this yr. As for the strenght of schedule comment, I never said anything about winning or losing. I was talking about who they both played. BHS vs. Dixie, Lloyd and CCH(combined record of 13-11), HC vs. Scott, Holmes and SK(combined record of 9-15). You throw the OH teams in, Alter would beat almost every team in NKY, I don't think Country Day would. Alter only scored a field goal on the D and last time I checked, it's been a while, they were ranked #1.

You bring up the freshman, well, w/a major coaching change for the last 3 games of the yr, the freshman went 3-0. There have been many yrs where the freshman's record was not very good and that class went on to be involved w/a STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. Freshman yr is for learning the system and letting the tradition of the program set into their blood.

I do give HC a chance, although, a slim one. Every team on a given night has a chance, they beat NCC if I remember right! As for BHS not getting players due to Coach Yeagle's absence, they will still get them. Yes, players came because he was the head coach but the program speaks for itself and Coach Rash will see to that. Since you brought up getting players, I asked the ? earlier but got no answer and since you know a lot about HC, what will they do when the kids from across the river have graduated. I have been told there will be no more tuition students/athletes admitted and I think this is the last class to come thru HC from across the river.

This will be a hard fought game on both sides of the ball!

I'll ask the same question, What will BHS do about getting athletes outside their district? And if you say they don't, your blind. I know may athletes that went to BHS that did not live in Ft. Michell. Living out of district is living out of district, even if it is across the river. I believe NCC has a player that lives in Taylor Mill, that's HC district. I believe BHS QB lives in Boone County. BHS does it, CCH does it, NCC does it, Simon Kenton does it. Do you think SK got 2 starters that transfered in by coinsidence? Don't think so.
