I guess you haven't seen Sacred Heart play. They have many scoring threats.

 

My comment was limited to scoring, but.... SH has three strong scoring threats.... just like CC... just like Conner... just like many of the other really good teams.... but having 4 is extremely rare.

 

not saying that the other players on those teams aren't good.. not saying that other players can't score... not saying that someone can't have a good stretch of games... not saying that those players can;t contribute... next year some of those same players may turn into even better players.....

 

Just pointing out that a match-up against Mercer is really tough due to their depth and that their #4 and #5 option are significantly better than what most teams can put together.

PTB is correct re SHA and their depth. In fact, my opinion is they have a decent amount more depth than Mercer. Toller (SHA) coming off the BENCH ... what!?! Love to see a CC vs SHA match-up this season! Understand SHA is doing very well at the Nike Tourney of Champions.

Both teams proving that they have enough to win it all.

I'd love to see SH and CC as well, but both of their efforts against the common opponent Mercer already shows that the gap between 1-3 is razor thin...

 

How much of a drop off is there between the top 3 and #4? I imagine its big but don't know much about Scott County. I just hope the Sweet sixteen draw gives some good final 4 match-ups.

I cant help but think that Butler will be in the mix at the end.

I just a Camels fan, I don't know any of the Lady Camels players. or their families. Other than seeing them at games.

So here's my take.....

Everyone....... knows Mercer County has a very talented, well coached team with a very good, deep bench. In their wins this year, Mercer County has outscored their opponents by an average 33 points a game. That in itself is quit remarkable. As per this thread, Mercer's 4 strong threats, along with their premier player, Robins, finally getting her game back, as she put up 22, to edge out a 3 point win against the "limited Camels".

 

The Lady Camels, with their "limited bench", and being at a big disadvantage with one of their key players in foul trouble most of the game, and spending several minutes on the bench. Which I believe was the X factor in this game. Lady Camels had a good chance to take the lead with :06 seconds to go, but missed the shot.

 

Two outstanding teams, played their hearts out, Mercer County came out on top on this one with the win. I hope they get to meet again.

You mean lose a half... SHA won the second half

CC won the first half by 12 or 13, SH won the 2nd by about 5 and CC was without Schwarber. I'd say CC won the game.

SH is the real deal though and I'd say if they played 10 times on a neutral court it'd be CC 6 SH 4.

I would say it is a pretty good indicator actually. My guess is Sacred Heart won most of the games they played this summer. Summer ball has turned into mini-seasons.

When summer ball counts on the 'record'.. then we'll talk. Until then, it doesn't matter. The season does and as I recall .. CC is 0-2 vs. SHA. Just saying..

And I'll say this.. nobody believed me earlier when I said Campbell Co would be top 4 in the State early -- received a bunch a laughs early -- however,.. no one is laughing now. Great start and expect great finish come February-March.

For those wanting to see the CC vs SHA match up. You will have to wait until February 2nd at Sacred Heart.

I would say then that the season doesn't really count either. They are all just practice games until the tournament.

And yes, Sacred Heart is 2-0 against past CC teams. 0-1 vs their current players. In season, scrimmage, summer, whatever.

I do think everyone else is on the outside looking in at these 3 though.

Someone told me today that Mercer currently has (or soon will have) 6 1,000-point scorers on their roster. Is that true? That's almost unfair
