That seems almost inevitable even without giving Cincinnati a team. I do think this pushes the Crew on out the door.

Nope. MLS reviewed the possible cities for expansion, but no vote was had. They said they had no plan to vote. They did say Cincinnati took a positive step forward with their stadium deal.

MLS' statement is awfully similar to the one they issued after the first meeting in December, where days later they announced Nashville.

Not necessarily, but some people are thinking they delay of announcing FCC/any expansion team is because MLS is waiting to see what happens with Columbus and Austin.

Well lets see, first it was 12-14-17, then it was some time in march, then it was 4-17-18........it is now 5/1/18 and the MLS season has started, and nothing.

After the initial expansion that included Nashville, there was no clear indication on whether or not the following expansion would be in time for the 2018 season.
