I was there, the starters played half the 4th quarter. The score was just 17-0 at halftime and 17-6 early in the 3rd quarter. The score may have been one TD worse but not much worse.

Wow!!! You got home awfully quick. :scared:

Got to get home so I can give my aspect of the game on BGP. Really though I just leave about 45 minutes from Ashland so it wasnt all that quick, or maybe it was.

Ashland had 509 yards of total offence and 25 first downs.

Not bad for a so so game. Give Lawrence Co. credit though. They came to play. I give the Cats a B-.

Ryan Bonner played very well today also. He had some nice blocks and he had 2 catches for long yardage. Kevin Burns also played good with a fumble recovery in the endzone on a heads up play for a touchdown and a touchdown catch. Now on to Johnson Central.

I agree... Tomcats have several good receivers... maybe they should use them more. Davis and Cordle had a good game too. Smart on Burns part to set up that clipping call- LC touchdown was called back.

Congrats to the Tomcats on the win and to D. McDavid on his milestone reached.:thumb: Good luck to the Tomcats next week and the rest of the way and hopefully deep into the playoffs.:thumb:

17-6 in the 3rd quarter, wow, at Putnam! I believe JC led 49-0 at the half against Lawrence County, at Lawrence County, before playing their subs almost the entire second half. Is the 38 points a season high for Ashland? That's an explosive offense, and that strength of schedule is really paying off.

After conquering the "mighty" Belfry Pirates, the arrogant, overconfident, untested Golden Eagles should be a piece of cake.

Feel free to start a JC/Ashland thread. We all know JC blew LC out this year. Congrats! That gives them about 2 wins in history over Lawrence Co. I also don't see how in the world you can call Ashland out for their schedule.

Congrats to the Tomcats on a nice win over LC. Hopefully that rivalry can pick back up to what it once was. That used to be one of if not the biggest games in the area between the two top programs in the 90's from that area.

I'm also proud to hear that LC came to play. It's been a tough year on the kids and coaches. All you can ask is that they keep fighting with that competititive spirt. They can still battle to have a shot of getting into the postseason. It is also very important for the upperclassmen to set the tone that they will stick together through thick and thin. The attitude to continue to roll up their sleeves, work their tails off and play with pride will be contagious for the younger guys there. While their record might not be great, the example they set can play a HUGE roll to help Lawrence Co football get back to the giant it once was! As a former player I'm proud to hear that they are still giving everything they have!

Where did anyone say anything about Belfry in this thread? I also said nothing about Johnson Central being arrogant, overconfident, or untested?

First, Congrats to Ashland on their Victory.

Now for Lawrence County sounds like another game where they played great for half or 3 quarters and then the game got away from them. Now did Coty Roberts do and also Morgan Roberts and Fitzpatrick? Did LC turn the ball over?

I agree, the first string was in for half of the fourth quarter, however, Ashland did play at least 6 D-linemen the entire time. And Chris Hall, a starter on D didn't play at all the entire 2nd half and Tyler Slone who played all of the first 6 games was out as was Michael Walters, the Cats biggest and strongest offensive lineman played none of the 2nd half as well. So a lot of new people saw alot of playing time last night.

:thumb: Nice post stick. LCHS has always played hard down through the years and for the life of me I just can't imagine them being down for very long. They have a proud tradition there and I am sure that they will be back where they want to be are used to being soon and that is taking a back seat to no one. Again, congrats to Ashland, good luck next week and into the playoffs.

Good win for the Tomcats! Matt Thomas ran really well with 185 yards on 18 carries and Mahan continues to improve. Congrats to one of my all time favorite Tomcats Drew McDavid! He only needs 8 more yards for the all time yardage record at Ashland. I cant believe no one has mentioned Fields David MASSIVE hit on #59 for LC in the 4th quarter. Man that kid got drilled!

I did notice that Ashland used some different Offensive and Defensive Lineman in the 2nd half. But the poster was making it sound like Ashlands starting units were out in the 2nd half which was not the case. Im not trying to take anything away from Ashlands win and I dont think they played there best game just as they didnt last year against LC, but the Tomcats were not very impressive last night. We will see a different Tomcat team friday night at "The Nest".
