December 8, 20178 yr Harbaugh is making $7m a year at Michigan and Marvin $4.5m with the Bengals. Do you really think that Mike Brown would offer Jim more than he is making at Michigan? Belichick is making $7.5m. I don't think Harbaugh is coming to the Bengals but if he doesn't start winning some big games or beat OSU, he isn't going to be making anything at Michigan as they are going to run him out of town in a couple years. Unless he gets that lifetime contract after 2021 they are discussing. :lol2:
December 8, 20178 yr McDaniel's stint at Denver really ended well didn't it? If he can't be successful with a good organization why do you think he could make this dysfunctional outfit a contender? One it was his first head coaching job. Two he actually didn't do horrible and put a lot of the key pieces in place that the next coach was able to use. Three coaches do learn from previous experiences. Let's not forget the coach who may go down as the best coach ever was fired by the Cleveland Browns. I bet no one at that time would have thought he would end up being what he is. I think the Bengals have had talent on offense but never fully used it's talent as much as it could have. I think Mcdaniels would truly be able to use the talent at rb to its best ability. I think he would be able to find more ways to get Green involved and not long strerches where they don't use him. Plus I think he would be able to use the other weapons better too. There is no hot new assistant coach that stands out to me who looking for their first shot. Plus I would like someone with previous head coaching experience for this group. Someone who is not going to be ultra conservative. Mcdaniels fits all those areas for me.
December 8, 20178 yr I believe it will be Jay Gruden. Do you think the Redskins are going to fire him? If not he is under contract isn't he? So they would have to trade for him.

If not, we won't and should't trade. I am not necessarily crazy about him being coach, I just think that is a direction they might go. I believe Darrin Simmons will get a longer look than most think. The Browns really like him.

I don't see any way McDaniels would come here. He would not remotely get the decision making in personnel he thinks he needs.
December 9, 20178 yr I don't see any way McDaniels would come here. He would not remotely get the decision making in personnel he thinks he needs. Sadly I do think you are right and that is why he would lean elsewhere if he ever does leave New England.
December 11, 20178 yr It's all setting up perfectly for the Redskins to fire Jay Gruden and he'll become the Bengals HC...And nothing will change.

December 11, 20178 yr John Fox is reportedly telling people he'll be fired at the end of the season. Imagine how fast it would be if the Bears had actually lost yesterday.
December 12, 20178 yr Do Jay and Mike get along? I thought that was part of the reason he left. Huh? Where did you hear this? Jay left because he was just a coordinator, and there he got to be a head coach. Which people do that to move up.
December 12, 20178 yr Listened to the Mo Egger show on the way home yesterday. They talked about McDaniels and others, but Mo's suggestion was brilliant. Not sure it would happen, but why not hire Todd Haley? Fits the bill on things I want from a head coach, tough, offensive minded and has experience. I hadn't thought about him, but that makes perfect sense and temporarily weakens an opponent.

December 12, 20178 yr Hopefully a guy who won't say something like this: "It's not my responsibility... to turn up the music"- Cincy Jungle
