December 12, 20178 yr Hopefully a guy who won't say something like this: "It's not my responsibility... to turn up the music"- Cincy Jungle I almost posted that earlier today. That statement tells me he's decided he's done here.
December 12, 20178 yr I almost posted that earlier today. That statement tells me he's decided he's done here. I’ve been pounding the he’s gotta go drum for some years now, but from his perspective, why would he want to work somewhere with seemingly no interest in progress? And for so long?
December 12, 20178 yr Listened to the Mo Egger show on the way home yesterday. They talked about McDaniels and others, but Mo's suggestion was brilliant. Not sure it would happen, but why not hire Todd Haley? Fits the bill on things I want from a head coach, tough, offensive minded and has experience. I hadn't thought about him, but that makes perfect sense and temporarily weakens an opponent. Does he want to be a HC again. Some of these guys who have been HC before, then go back to OC/DC I think realized where they are better off.

Marvin is also right on this one. This is professional football, these guys shouldnt need to have someone pump them up to play a game. The number of 00000 at the end of these guys checks should be enough to get them motivated. The "ME" generation is starting to hit the NFL in a big way (as in more of them, there has always been a few here and there) and to be honest Marvin isnt the coach to coach those guys, so yeah its either time, or close to time for Marvin to go, because you cant avoid drafting/signing these guys anymore, they are everywhere.

I'm sorry, are you saying the head coach's responsibility is not to have his team fully prepared to play football? Because the players make money?
December 12, 20178 yr I'm sorry, are you saying the head coach's responsibility is not to have his team fully prepared to play football? Because the players make money? Being prepared means X's and O's. It does not mean the HC should have to power little AJ's bottom to get him amped up for the game.

I don't know what role he plays in drafting and signing/trading players, but if it's much of a role, I think he's done an excellent job on that front, and would be more than happy to see him in a luxury box on Sundays.

December 15, 20178 yr Zimmer of the Vikings said "Hope Marvin gets a lifetime contract." I guess that says it all. :lol2:
December 17, 20178 yr Zimmer of the Vikings said "Hope Marvin gets a lifetime contract." I guess that says it all. :lol2: Guessing the Steelers, Ravens and Browns hope so as well. On Jay Gruden, why would you want to leave one meddling owner for another--At lease Washington will spend some $$'s?

December 17, 20178 yr Just broke...Marvin has said he’s leaving the Bengals after this season. I wonder if it was a "hey, we'll give you the chance to leave on your own or you'll be fired" type deal.
