You are correct, no one asked...this is forum where we get to state opinions about topics posted, so I posted mine...back to the topic I'm sure a police record for any coach who had possession of drugs, public intoxication, etc. is more than enough for any school system to determine not to hire back this person. Is this factual about what he was charged for or something I read?

It is indeed factual. But he has already begun working in the school again so apparently it was not enough for him to lose his certification.

I know that the Superintendent, current principal, and others in Central Office position have approached him and want him to come back. So they are obviously open to it.

But that brings up a valid point, will there be parents who do feel that way. could there be backlash from community? would it make the administration weary of bringing him back? Newport already has quite a few things working against it, is it worth adding fuel to the fire?

 

I’ve heard not one single negative thing. Granted, it’s all rumor at this point. But if there will be negativity, it will most likely come from outsiders.

He does, but you can rule him out.

Current CC Freshman Head Coach, Justin Mason. Has 5 years Varsity Coaching experience, 4 under Coach Styers (2 of those as DC), and coached DL for Coach Lickert. Also has coached the past 3 years as Freshman head coach with some great results.

Justin is interested and has applied to the posted position. He has great rapport with the players and can deal with the parents. He has been a 3 season coach at CC and has the football acumen.

A lot of people make mistakes and if he has learned from them and has his life on track then I am for it. He maybe able to help the kids and talk to them about his experience and what he went through.
