Auburn 26 Alabama 14

I think it is an SEC conspiracy! Bama lost on purpose so that it would guarantee the SEC getting two teams in the playoff and Bama losing was the only way that could happen.:sneaky:

Yes! I have one signature on my petition. Who else wants to sign?

You may want to edit the title and spell Auburn correctly.

I do not hold that power on this set up. :(

College football already is the best sport out there. Nothing has the drama Week in and week out. I'm fine with an 8 team playoff and obviously I would really love one right now, but I don't think after 3 years we would have any different teams win. The best team has won each year so far. Isn't that the goal?

Eh maybe, maybe not. Sometimes all a team needs is a shot. Osu win they won that title very easily could have been left out. Yet if someone would have said well if only they would have made it they would have beat Bama and Oregon with a third string qb to win the title, people would have laughed at someone saying that. Yet if osu would have been left out, which they could have been. Then they would have never got that chance.

Just like this year osu doesn't deserve to be in. But I even know if they got in they would be talented enough to possibly win it. Doesn't mean they would have been the best team. Just means they did the most with their opportunity.

The season is a failure to a large percentage of OSU fans if you don't beat Michigan. That's just how it is. I don't know how to describe it to someone who hasn't been entrenched in the rivalry their whole lives.

Well chances are in the past if you lost to Michigan then you usually have no shot at a title. However if the situation that happened today for Bama happened to you all. I think you all would be just fine as long as you still won the title.

You hit edit then the full editor you can edit the title that way.

I don't think there was as much debate about putting OSU in 2014 as you seem to believe. But either way even in an 8 team playoff Ohio State, Alabama, and Clemson win the national championship.

I did that and it only changes the heading in the first post, not the topic, that shows on the front page.

I believe I waited to long.

I don't think you understand. It's not about the national title. It's simply about beating Michigan. OSU fans are just weird man and as an OSU fan you will just have to take my word for it. When I was little all I ever heard around Columbus was about beating TTUN. About Woody and Bo. I thought The Game was the pinnacle of the entire season. That's just how it was. Obviously things have changed with regards to winning a national championship. But the hatred remains.

You have no idea if they do or don't. I mean no reason to think Pittsburgh would have beat Clemson last year. Why is it hard to believe one of the two hottest teams in the country at the end of last season in Penn State and USC. Doesn't end up knocking off one of those top teams. Sometimes all its about is getting that opportunity. Then if you get that opportunity trying to put together your 2 best games of the year. It's always easy after the fact to say no way would that team have lost. Just like there would be no way osu gets pounded after beating Penn State. Yet it happens.

My best friends are osu fans, all about osu. Yes they would be down as can be if osu lost to Michigan. Yet if they then ended up winning the title, they wouldn't be like eh it doesn't feel right though cause we lost to Michigan.

It did happen last year and it probably should happen this year. I don't think that means the system is broken.

The system is not a system. Its just a group that in closed doors figures out the best TV ratings to maximize revenue. The championship games are now meaningless (though the lack of one was cited when they kept a B12 team out a few years ago). Might as well get rid of the championship game and go back to 10 game regular season. Except that would take away 3 weeks of TV money. But it must be worth all the injuries we are seeing in the games this week.

It's not that OSU fans wouldn't be excited about winning a national championship. It just wouldn't feel the same as the years like 2014 when they did beat Michigan. It wouldn't be remembered as fondly. If the game was earlier in the year then yeah OSU fans would get over it, but with it being the last game of the year it's tough to overcome the emotions that come with losing to Michigan. My favorite game ever as an Ohio State fan was the 2015 Sugar Bowl against Alabama. But outside of that The Game in 2006 against Michigan is my fondest memory as a Buckeye fan. That was my favorite Buckeye team of all time as they got slaughtered in the national championship game.

Regular season games are different.
