One tough loss for the Purples. South certainly was better ball club tonight. Not sure I've seen BG play worse than they did tonight. South deserved the win.

 

Will be a long off season for BG. Win with class and lose with class. Every team at some point has a game that will simply be a collosal meltdown. This one for BG was tonight. Hats off to Spartans and wish you well next week. Winner of game next week will be state champs.

This was a great game for both teams. Both teams played with a lot of heart and effort. South played as close to perfect as they could and had a great game plan. BG did not play over all their best. They made several mistakes and gave South all kinds of chances that south finally capitalized on. Hats off to both teams it was a great game.

 

BG’s line let south control the line of scrimmage and cause Buchanon to scramble and throw on the run. This was a key to the game

It is definitely a tough loss I believe. It's a loss that shouldn't have happened. BG played about as bad as it could. I think the fact that they still had a chance to win at the end shows just how good BG is. BG beats South Warren 7 or 8 out of 10 times if they played, I have no doubt. BG let a bad game last week carry over to this week. Can't do that in that in playoffs or it can end your season. They don't give regional championships away, you gotta earn it and come to play every week. And they know that, just bad game. It happens.

Congrats coach Smith, coach McCloud the rest off the staff and players on this huge upset win!

Wow...Guess BG wasn’t as good as I thought. Definitely didn’t see South putting up 28 pts. Or maybe South is better than advertised. Either way I’m pulling for South to keep pulling the upsets!

Ok, so the updates thread is like 11 pages deep and I'm lazy. Would someone mind doing a cliff notes version of what happened here? Were there any contributors such as turnovers, penalties, or injuries? Was South just the better team and took it to BG? I get the sense BG struggled with pass protection maybe?

BG turned the ball over too much. Lost the battle on the LoS.

Saw where Winn ran for 183 and 3 TDs. That is a solid night, was a little surprised BG struggled that much to stop the run.

Totally unfair for BG to get a bye week now before they beat Cov Cath for the state championship.

Well still a bit numb after last night. Congrats to South Warren. As my friend @jcater said they played near perfect. For BG, not sure how they could play worse. Will be a long bitter pill to swallow over the offseason.
