You indicated that many T fans want to just go for the jugular and keep going, I was merely offering a different perspective. Sometimes we want to get that score to that point so quickly to just get the mismatch over with. Not so much a "CRUSH 'EM!" mentality.

AS TO THE RUNNING CLOCK: Missing one key point > if the teams are that overmatched- you want get the context over to avoid any inevitable injuries.

That's why I was wondering that Trinity didn't go for two with just under 6 minutes left in the first half to get the running clock as soon as possible. Especially if you are the favorite to win it all to try and cut down the number of plays from scrimmage and chances for injuries. I feel the odds would have been very good for them to get the two point conversion. jmo

Because the Rocks faked a punt up five scores or so with time running out, I was asking if they were running up the score for any particular reason, or just running up the score. I follow that you think no reason is necessary. I'm aware of people like you, so I guess I should have made it more clear that I was asking if there was a reason in this case, since I'm not aware of any. Of course, there is also the possibility that the description of the play above omits information, and that there was no desire on Trinity's part to run the score up at all, but that wouldn't interest you either so I don't know why I would bring it up.

Or maybe they wanted to run it so future opponents are thinking about it during their prep. They haven't run it before I don't believe.

Is 200 yards in penalties a T or state record? Seems incredible for a great team like T. Any unbiased observer comments? If the 2 teams would have been evenly matched, it's hard to overcome that much penalty yardage

T has only been penalized like that twice this year previously to the best of my knowledge, last week against CC and against Warren Central (IN) earlier in the season. Against WC however it was on both teams, not heavily lopsided like the last 2 weeks.

Have no clue where you heard that. I think you are mistaken, as most of us know everybody can run against SK. Had Scott's Chisolm get 449 by himself.
