Agree. And people want to know why the Town is divided with the Football program right now. Someone said to me last year, you know Brian Weinrich was a very strong role in all of Dale's State titles. I can't argue that but so have all the coaches that coached under Bill Belichick for years when they won. When they leave and want their own way as Weinrich has done, it doesn't always translate into Winning or being successful. It sometimes can be quite the Opposite.

I think if BW would've remained the same type of coach as he was under Dale he would be successful right now.

 

The stories I have heard of practice and overall mentality is not the same BW that was once feared (a respectful fear meaning you're going to bust your behind for this guy) during the Coach Mueller days. It used to be hell day on the rare occasion that Coach Mueller wasn't going to be able to be at practice and BW was going to run practice. That is just not there anymore and it sucks.

Here's an idea...since the technology is already available and the infrastructure is already built, when a game is filmed and uploaded to Hudl, why doesn't it go into a KY State Pool where anyone can access it?

 

It alleviates the need to trade. It allows for teams with less than adequate technology to see their own games. It would allow for all of us to see games that we want to see from our alma maters, our nephews playing across the state, coaches we like, coaches we dislike, etc.

 

College coaches don't hide film and then point the finger, why should we?

I heard that, too, but I'm not buying that. The Oldham schools are arch-rivals, but the relationship between all three schools is very cordial.

Speaking of sharing.....does anybody have a current, numerical roster for Highlands that they'd be willing to share with me? Coach W has not been willing to share a current, numerical roster with Pegasus for the past two weeks. Maybe he's just forgotten (I could certainly understand that) but we've sent several requests. We're going to have to go off the KHSAA.org roster, I guess, which is rarely a good thing. (for one, it's alphabetized, making it harder to find the kids' names in the middle of the game. Second, those are rarely up to date by the end of the season...)

Shouldn't that be something that the Athletic Director takes care of? The coach is getting ready for a game in the second round of the playoffs. Get on the school website and send an email to the AD and ask for a numerical roster. You may have to explain to him what that is, but he should be able to provide one.

Highlands has all of there film all 10 games and South Oldham has Highlands 10 games. Highlands played in the first round and South Oldham didn't. South Oldham doesn't have film to give Highlands from there bye week. South Oldham was at Highlands first round game. What does South Oldham have to give in return... Nothing. So why should Highlands give South Oldham a extra game of film that South Oldham was in fact at?

Everyone gets film on everyone, including those teams in NKY who refuse to send because of their obligation to the NKY coaches association. Everyone trades the last 2 games all season and other teams have those games. To my understanding if you do not exchange, it is not KHSAA but the KFCA who deals out punishment, such as possible suspensions. Who wants to bet South Oldham got the film anyway?

 

On the issue of bye’s in the playoffs, it needs to be fixed. If you have to give out bye’s then make the teams earn them, possibly the #1 overall seed in the each bracket and so on. Cant believe Julian chose to take shots Weinrich, how about just accept responsibility for a flawed system.

Why? IMO, BW deserved it. What he did was so petty. A leader of young men could've used it as a teaching moment. Instead he chose to pout about it.

He was obviously effective with his comments, because he distracted you from BW’s point in not trading. Getting on an anonymous msg board and calling a leader of young men a pouter? Come on... Any coach who only has 10 films on an opponent and is considering sending their opponent an 11th film which could arguably give the other team a competitive advantage? Glad BW has his kids back tbh!
