More on Matewan, WV coach's quest for a record

That's making the game a mockery just as much as the other coach.

That's nowhere close to what the other team was doing. What that is doing is disrespecting the other team, which wasn't really necessary since they disrespected themselves so much. That team will face a much tougher task on the road the rest of the season. The fans from other schools will not take it easy on this team and deservedly so.

I disagree. I think it proves a point. While I agree with what they did afterward, some will see what Burch did in not shaking hands as unsportsmanlike as well.

Once the game is out of hand (as it was early in this one), the gameplan and objectives of coaches change, such as working on different plays, playing backups, etc.

In this blowout, the objectives now change to doing what it takes to keep an unsportsmanlike opponent from making a mockery of you, your team, and your school.

Couldn't agree with ya more. :thumb:

...This guy is a discrace to high school athletics!!

That about sums up my opinion as well, cville. Did you catch his interview on the local news this morning. He was talking about how much rushing yardage his offense was averageing...it was pathetic. To an uninformed viewer, you would think this guy invented the game.

Where's the "Connecticut rule" when you really need it?

You have no idea how close to the truth that last sentence is. This guy is just morally unjust in all aspects of life. If you live anywhere close to this area, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Let me say that I would NEVER have him anywhere near my 3 daughters on any occasion, much less, allow a child of mine to be taught by him or play for him.

Don't count on it. I have heard or read several comment he has made since justifying his actions. I don't think he is remorseful.

I have heard those kind of comments also Watsui and Pirate Pal, this so called man and eader (poor excuse for both) should be kicked out of h.s. athletics and banned from ever coaching at any level again. I would ask where are the parents and school administration during all of this? Do they agree with and support this classless piece of tash? My wish would be that all of this schools opponets would band together and refuse to play them in the future. I wonder how this so called coach and the school and community would feel then. The kids surely wouldn't deserve that but It might get the coach what he deserves......a team w/o a schedule, then maybe someone would wake up and get rid of him.
