I agree with this for the most part, however, it seems like the opportunity to play full time would be a partial draw. I know honestly, I'd rather play on a team like Scott (or I could name a few others) where I could be a two or three year starter than go to a large established winning and be second and third string most of my time.

That's just not how talented athletes think. And the ones that do end up playing for programs in Scott's situation...

I don't necessarily agree. I think it is a 50-50 thing, this is the case sometimes but others it isn't. It is just like a pro athlete leaving one team where he is just a role player to be the focus of another, minus the whole millions of dollars thing.

I was at the NKYFL Raider game yesterday and it was Senior Day. At halftime, they introduced the departing seniors and read their bio's. Not one football player said they would go Scott. It was all Dixie, Cov Cath, and a few Beechwoods.

Were did Riegler play his high school ball? And to answer an earlier question, Last time I saw him, which was earlier this summer, he was working in his family business, not in coaching.:eek:

He played at Boone County and played on the team that went to state when Shaun Alexander played there. He is working for his families business but you will find him friday nights on the sidelines with the Holmes Bulldogs.

I know but I still don't think your summarization of kids who want to play going to different schools is always the case, it is in some situations the right scenario but in others i don't think it really fits.

Alright, you do that, I was giving you the benefit of the doubt and agreeing that the coach might not be the problem, which means that you only have to do the other things.

I've talked to coaches who've coached with Casey at Scott and they laugh at the situation. If you go to a practice you see that it's not Casey running the show it's his assistant coaches doing all the work.

Scott needs a coach who can weed out all the players that really don't want to be there and keep the ones who are dedicated and bring in players that want to be dedicated. I wasn't the biggest fan of coach Riegler but he WAS headed in the right direction for the most part. Scott needs a coach who has been around a winner. Riegler played in a State Championship, Casey never did. Casey went to college for cheerleading he knows cheerleading. Scott needs someone who knows football and nothing but football. [No knock on Casey about cheering. Cheerleading is a very respectable "sport" (another debate) in Kentucky]

Laughed at what situation if they laugh at Casey as a head coach then they can take a hike if they dont coach there anymore good glad they are gone. The assistant coaches like the fact that coach Fisk gives them freedom with that they do with the kids at thier positions and the o and d cord. gets to come up with a good game plan they think will work each week against who they are playing but Casey has the final say in everything that happens. The assistants dont run things at Scott you can pick and pick on casey all you want throwing little comments about him cheering in college, dont know football but cheerleading, nice but he knows football. I would love to see them win more games because when they do what excuses will you want to give then. He is in his second year at a School that has never been successful and everyone wants to rip him apart give him time to do things at Scott before you start bashing him.:mad: :mad:

I don't know about his coaching style when it comes to this, but if he indeed does allow his assistants to coach then I agree with his overall technique in this area. I believe that the assistants are there to coach and should be allowed to control the positions they are in charge of. (I know of another NKY school that has a problem with this situation but that is for another thread)

Casey is a great guy and he means well. but when you have parents coaching so thier kid can play well that something else.

They have talent. one of the kids started as a freshman two started as sophomores now lucky to get in the game. as seniors. Its' all who your parents are that the way its' always been.
