Do your research- the scores are available on the KHSAA scoreboard website. Now back to St. Iggy's win over the Bombers. This will add to the Bombers angst as they apparently do not like to travel 100 plus miles. Louisville St. Xavier usually plays them close.....much closer than they should.....odds are this a one score game.

I wasn't the poster of the GCL vs. Louisville comment, but I misread that and took it as GCL vs. KY. I'd love to have a debate about GCL vs. Louisville, as it definitely does present some exmaples of good games.

 

My reasoning was that Cincy St. X looks very good this year, and Specht will absolutely make sure they perform better than the game against Iggy. Since it's in Louisville, it'll be closer, but I think the Bombers will still pull out the win.

 

Now, my comment before in this thread was probably a bit too much in saying that they should have no issue.

Please let the Bombers know they DO NOT want to come in Poplar Level Road from Watterson Expressway (I-264). The Louisville Zoo has a special Halloween gig and it shuts down Poplar Level Road for the most part. They are better off coming I-64 to Grinstead Drive, thru Cherokee Triangle to Eastern Parkway to the north end of Poplar Level. Mapquest will get you there.

I would go Preston to Hess Ln to Poplar Level coming from I-264.

Knowing Steve Specht a little, I can assure you he has about 10 route options mapped out with every conceivable option included and under consideration. Very few coach high school athletics (any sport) better than that cat.

Man I hope he stays even after his son graduates... One of the best high school coaches ever. But can't help but think his connections with Urban Meyer might be able to land him somewhere at the next level.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think they are traveling to Louisville to simply "go through the motions", especially after the loss they took on the chin last week to Iggy, but if injuries are a factor, I imagine those players won't play.

Both teams have too much pride and character not too play their very best.
