I think we will see the state of the Highlands locker room in this game -- and I expect the Birds to have a great week of practice, to bring their best effort next weekend, and to get a win over the Gators.

Highlands is a BAD defensive football team. That's not a good thing to be against a disciplined Veer offense. I'll take the Gators 28-7.

What have we seen from Greenwood that says they are better? Wins over Warren Central, Grayson County, and Barren County? Blowout losses to Bowling Green, South Warren, and Franklin-Simpson?

 

I'm not necessarily saying Highlands is better (although I think they are), but lets not start polishing Greenwood's resume like they're some type of top notch contender.

Don't know much about the teams Greenwood has played outside of Bowling Green and South Warren so I can't make a call on this one. It will be interesting to see how HHS comes out of the CCH beat down.

I called this one wrong in pre-season. I thought Greenwood would win. Don't see it happening. Long drive and lots of points for Highlands.

GC articulated it perfectly!!! All Highlands has to do is look at the BG or South video and prepare for a 1 dimensional team.

 

GWs wins 0-8 Warren Central, 1-7 Grayson County (that 1 win is an 8 point win against the worst team in 4A), and 0-8 Barren County. :idunno::idunno::idunno:

 

Highlands is struggling for Highlands standards but 6A Cooper, 6A Campbell County and 5A Dixie Heights are H's wins and are miles ahead of Greenwoods.

 

Highlands should win this game as they are the better team.

It wasn't that long ago somebody with Purple in their user name predicted strongly that Greenwood would put a running clock on the Birds. Has something changed at Greenwood that would effect that prediction? I don't think a long drive would make a 35 point difference.

It was me. You can look at my earlier post. I was way wrong. Greenwood has a fantastic veer QB (about best you will see) but wheels has fallen off wagon.

Greenwood runs the veer about as well as you can run it. SR QB Jackson Adams is the Greenwood All Time Leading Rusher. He earned that title as a Sophomore. They have over 2,500 yards on the ground this season. Adams can do the most damage, but their RBs are pretty good also and their OLine is decent. BUT, they have 300 yards passing on the year. Jackson has 4 TD passes and 4 INTs. SO, ya stack the box and not let the veer beat you. At least that's what BG does. Now Adams will break a run or 2, but if you prep for it and make a few adjustments along the way has been the formula for success against Greenwood. The Greenwood D is pretty decent to, but if you can bottle up their offense, they get worn down, especially second half. They have a decent kicker too.

 

Their coach has done a good job at GW, but after they got beat at WKU by Warren East in the second game of the season, the wheels have come off. Not totally sure why...

I just think Highlands is the better team here. The only think I don't like for them in this game is their bus ride...
