Gwoods blowout losses are to BG, South, and FS...all three would running clock Highlands, at home or on the road.

 

Highlands has wins against a 1-7 Cooper, a decent 5-3 Campbell, and a 3-5 Dixie.

Two of Dixie's wins are against 1-7 Cooper and 1-7 Boone.

 

One time in 8 games, Highlands has held an opponent under 20...four of eight, they've given up 35+.

 

Other than Highlands win against Campbell (which is a little puzzling), they have continued to be anything but a low level program with an exceptional history.

 

Greenwood has hardly been world beaters but I think too many on here are hearing the name "Highlands" and failing to look at their actual body of work...or history of defensive struggles against offenses that have a pulse.

 

Honestly, I didn't even know who Greenwood was as I have never heard of them. But take your shots at the birds while you can. Shooters shot I think is what the kids are saying these days. Go Birds!

Because of a losing season in football?!?! Are you aware that Ft. Thomas schools are repeatedly recognized as a "District of Distinction" by the KY DOE and 4 of the 5 schools have been named as a National Blue Ribbon of Excellence? That Forbes has recognized them as one of the top 25 public school districts in the country? But they should fire the administration because of the football team's record.

 

There have been issues with other athletic programs as well at Highlands over the last few recent years. The post I quoted, stated that administration should take a look at the program should they lose the next two games. I am merely saying that perhaps those in charge of athletics should be looked at as well.

Maybe it is the answer or part of the answer. Maybe the change isnt going over so well, maybe the change needs more time. Nothing wrong with evaluating the entire umbrella, and not just one spoke.

The Administration has had more turnover than a French Bakery these past few years. I don't know if it is necessarily their fault as they havent even had a chance to get acclimated to the School system yet and understand the rich Athletic tradition.

 

I think once Dale left the school the entire program took a hit. He was so good in the hallways and with the kids that when you take someone like him out you lose alot. That guy could tell you that you could run through a brick wall and by god you would atleast try to do it.

 

The players are not connecting with this staff obviously and that is what I am hearing from a few parents of players. I hope things get turned around for the sake of the program.

I won't make it tonight, unfortunately, but I'll be keeping an eye on the update thread. Thanks to everyone that can contribute to it!

 

Also, I think if this ends up as a losing season, the coaching position should be looked at. That doesn't mean I say the coaches are out, just that it should be looked at closer. This team was on the cusp of beating SK (outplayed them for sure), and lost against Lex Cath in the last possession. They can't close when necessary (or hold when necessary, however you look at it). That seems more of a coaching issue than a talent issue, IMHO.
