October 14, 20179 yr Because why wouldn't they lose to someone they shouldn't in a year my favorite team can't take any advantage of it.... My sincere hope is that NC State can pull off the Atlantic division win. Anyone but Clemson.

I have that one circled now.
October 14, 20179 yr Last year Clemson, who was 9-0 at the time, lost to 5-4 Pittsburgh at home. They were a 20 point favorite in that one. If Clemson wins out and they are up against other 1 loss teams for that last playoff spot, do you honestly think the defending champs will be left out?

If they win out I think they are still in.
October 14, 20179 yr Author Everybody needs to pump the brakes again. Clemson is still in the playoff if they win out and there is no debate about it. As long as Clemson and Bama win their conference with 1 loss or undefeated they are going to be in.
October 14, 20179 yr Only because I am not a Clemson fan(I DO NOT HATE THEM)and this was a upset, this score makes me smile.

It may come down to a couple of 1 loss teams and who has the "best loss".

October 14, 20179 yr It's NEVER about who has the best loss. It's about who has the best wins. If everything else is deemed equal then it is. It is definitely about who you beat but also who you lose to. If Syracuse finishes 4-7 and Alabama has one loss at Auburn, that's not a factor? It all factors in.

When all is said and done Clemson will have more wins against ranked teams (if they win out) than anyone in the country. (Unless ND runs the table) they aren't getting left out unless they have 2 losses.

(Unless ND runs the table) they aren't getting left out unless they have 2 losses. All four other conferences could still have undefeated champions. I don't think they're a lock at all. Besides, one of the ranked teams they beat just lost to BC. That's stat is overrated.

That's stat is overrated. PAC 12 is probably out at this point. Only way Clemson is left out is if BAMA or UGA, PSU, TCU and ND run the table. Even with that I don't know if it's enough to keep them out. It would be close, ND has a chance to pick up some quality wins
