KnightTime07 Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 How can a big, public city school become this bad at football?

Shuttlesworth Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 Middle School Soccer gets more practice time on the football field then the actual football team. I believe Lexington schools aren't allowed to practice off campus?
Jim Schue Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 The two teams that played for the 1996 Class 4A state football championship are a combined 0-12 this year, and have combined to drop 26 in a row.
Johnny_Utah Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 Fayette County doesn't have middle school soccer. The issue with many of the schools is that when they were built, there was no extra space for practice fields so football/ boys soccer & girls soccer all compete for field time with two of these teams often splitting the field up 50 yards each right after school with the odd man out team practicing late. The people I've talked to in the know about the situation say that they could practice off campus, but transportation would be an issue & many times there isn't anything available close enough to make it feasible. Sinbad 74 Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 This might be a precursor of things to come nationwide. Moms are scared to have their son's play football because of the recent concussion media coverage. We might see sports such as lax, and rugby take over for football.
JDEaston Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 I know last season wasn't much different, however PLD was much more competitive last season than they have been this season. Were they one of the schools that Fredrick Douglas drew kids from?

Not afraid of motorcycles, ATV's or cars, but scared to death of football.

PLD is on the southwest side of the city. Shouldn't have had much, if any effect.

For some reason I was thinking it was going to pull from mostly from Lafayette and another school but wasn't sure what the other school was.
