Nets, living in Ashland I have not had the pleasure of seeing your boys, esp. Haney play in person. I know the Mark Maynard spoke glowingly of Haney. Lord willing I will get to see them in December.

 

My questions is where do you guys keep coming up with all those athletes? West Liberty isn' a real big town.

Breeding patterns 15-20 years ago in Morgan County could have something to do with the plethora of athletes that West Liberty has witnessed.:lol:

 

Haney is from Cannel City...Southern part of the County. Used to be a very large town back in the day with the Coal boom.

 

Some of the past greats of Cougars hoops reside in these places within Morgan Co.

Morgan Co. needs to place another order of quality athletes to be developed...or we're going to have to go to the reserves and that could ultimately raise ticket prices, kinda like the price of oil and paying for gas;)

lol...I haven't head of any of those towns eighter, West Liberty is a nice little city though.

Oh yeah, he's had a tremendous summer. He's always had the potential and I think this year he'll realize that potential.

If I could go back, I'd probably put Thomas in front of Gill just because Matt has proven himself already and Scott is still yet unproven as of now. I think he'll prove himself this year but hasn't as of yet.

Daniels, Wolfenbarger and Haney may be a little overrated. The Faulkners and Blair will probably use this list as a motivational tool.

 

 

Matt Daniels is NOT overrated. That kid can play and he's the best pure shooter in the region. Hands-down. He can take a game over and he'll carry Rowan this year. Overrated and Daniels shouldn't even be in the same sentence.

We will probably play sometime during the district tournament. Matt Thomas and Drew McDavid are the 2 best all around athletes in this area. There is no one who excels at their level in football and basketball.

How can Haney be over rated when he's not even on many people's top 10 list? I gave factual and evaluational information on the kid. Never said he was the best at anything or ranked in a certain position other than he's in the same confines as the top tier atletes as mentioned by many on here. Giving an actual number to a kid on ranking is for amusement only. (For example our BGP regional player and team rankings) Clearly there are some players who are skilled and are simply better than others. As that being said, there are also several kids who are mentioned almost daily who just plainly are not as good as people wish them to be.

 

Daniel is not overrated either.

IMO Daniel is not overrated at all! Like many others who are coaches sons they draw a little more unfair criticism from some of us. As far as Daniel being the most "Pure" shooter in the region I would disagree. I think Maynard at Elliott has that wrapped up.
