No, I think what they are saying is that Maynard is a pure shooter that will come off alot of screens and smoke you from anywhere on the floor. Vanhoose has more ability to create his own shot off the dribble.

Right on Wireman. Maynard just needs to comes off some screens or catch spotted up off someone else's creation and Elliott has two that can create and do that.

There is a few GOOD very GOOD ball players in the 16th that haven't even been named . I say that that after a few weeks of ball games the top 10 will change . Watch and see who passes up some of the so called wonderboys.

My guess is about 10 per game, which is not bad, but is not going to strike "fear" into the hearts of the opposing coaches. Most of his points are going to come off of the help that Ferguson and Faulkner draw, not dissing, just pointing out that if he is indeed the best "pure shooter" in the region, he should be able to score more than what he is going to score, and he is going to be about the #4 scorer on his own team. I would be willing to label him as a zone buster though:thumb:

GIAT, As much as you're on these sites and are asking who Maynard is leads me to beiieve that you are basically a Tomcat follower & not a 16th region basketball follower. Your hometown newspaper had him as the leading free thow shooter and 2nd in 3pt % in the 16th for the 05'-06'season. I think he just did not have enough attempts to qualify for the state leader in these catagories but if Elliott coaches are smart they will see that he gets those attempts this year.

Good post dejavu, but I will say he could easily avg. 14-16 if he gets equal opportunities. He should avg 6-8 alone from the FT line if they get him the ball. He once told me Weddington would tell him not to worry he will see that he has the ball at the end of the game so the FT's would be in his hands. I call that (Senior Leadership) hope someone can fill that void for Elliott this year! Last year I would say he only avg about 3-4 shots/game. He should get more than that just from the attention Ferguson & the twins wil draw. Let see if Elliott coaches use this to their advantage

You are correct. If its not in the 64th or 63rd district I really dont pay attention to it.

There will be nights when Maynard will lead the Lions is scoring and nights he will lead them in assists. Like Milhouse said, he will get 6-8 points a game on free throws alone.
