stinkyboy II Posted September 23, 2017 Posted September 23, 2017 Apparently there was a 30 minute drone delay in the Pendleton / Bath game last night. Sheriff had to be called in to handle the problem. Anyone with details on the delay and how it was handled?
theguru Posted September 23, 2017 Posted September 23, 2017 And who can inform us all on what the latest FAA Rules are concerning drones?
Jumper_Dad Posted September 23, 2017 Posted September 23, 2017 Pretty sure they are not allowed to be flown over any sporting event unless part of a broadcast.
Nathaniel Bryan Posted September 23, 2017 Posted September 23, 2017 I thought drones were banned entirely?
ColonelMike Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 The South Oldham vs. Oldham County game was delayed about 10 minutes due to a drone flying over the field. They addressed it by having the PA announcer announce that the play would not be resumed until the drone left....it did. Apparently, the operator was close enough to hear the Public Address Announcer... CM
SomewhereOffTheMap Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Christian Co. Vs Hopkinsville had a drone delay as well. The result ended up being a pretty cool photo.

See that is an awesome photo. Can a drone be used during warmups to capture great moments? I get the safety issue of a drone falling into the stands and support the decision to ban them, but you have to admit to capture a great photo like that would be really cool.
All the Right Moves Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Apparently there was a 30 minute drone delay in the Pendleton / Bath game last night. Sheriff had to be called in to handle the problem. Anyone with details on the delay and how it was handled? It was about 15 minutes and the city police were dispatched. They figured out who it was pretty quick and went to his house. Not sure of the outcome or if additional investigation is going to be pushed by the school board.
fatsnbul Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Last year at Ensworth, they used one at halftime to show the crowd on the video board during the Trinity game.
oldgrappler Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Reminds me of this thread last year: http://bluegrasspreps.com/ky-football-high/drones-329628.html My services are still for hire.
ManOfTroy Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 I read this title and thought...wow, I'm getting old.
