With everyone voting for Beechwood, I guess I should get ready to serve a bunch of crow late Friday night.

Beechwood gets a second chance at one of the top teams in the state. The first chance against Covington Catholic did not go well. I believe Beechwood will do better in this game against Simon Kenton. Simon Kenton and Covington Catholic look to play similar schemes on defense. Hopefully Beechwood will be ready this time to play better on offense. The offense needs to move the ball and control the clock to help the defense out. They didn't do that at all versus Covington Catholic.

 

Beechwood has played well versus Simon Kenton. Since 2000, they have played four times:

 

2012 - Simon Kenton 21 Beechwood 17

2011 - Beechwood 28 Simon Kenton 0

2002 - Beechwood 24 Simon Kenton 20

2001 - Beechwood 14 Simon Kenton 12

 

Beechwood will need to hold Simon Kenton to 28 points or less to win. If the Tigers win it will probably be by a score similar to the Corbin score (36-29).

 

The Tigers can win this but they will have to win the turnovers and play better on offense. QB Brayden Burch needs to have a good game. Finally, Beechwood needs to limit big plays by Simon Kenton and keep their QB in check running the ball.

Since the majority on here think that BW will win Friday, is it considered an upset if they do or is this just an indication of how people feel about SK?

I will be rooting for the Beechies, but I will be shocked if Simon Kenton wins by less than 3 TD's.

Simon Kenton is young on defense. My guess is BW scores a few TD's. Don't be fooled by the Cov Cath score. Not a knock on SK but they are not Cov Cath. BW wins 35-28

Beechwood isn't afraid of the big boys, CovCath and SK on the schedule prove it. I personally think SK squeaks by in this one maybe a 7-10 point win.

It is a shame that CovCath and SK don't play, we would then see just how much better than SK that CovCath really is.

This game will not be a blow out... so get those 4-5 TD's crap out of here. They play a soft 6A schedule and look like world beaters every year. Beechwood by 2 TD's. Better coached and will have a more disciplined game plan. And SK is NOT more talented.
