Okay' date=' so the side warning was finally called after the extra point but before the kickoff. Thanks![/quote']

You get one sideline warning before the flag. Side judge threw the flag and then the white cap told the side judge "Hey, we can't throw a flag on the warning..." so no flag, and the warning stood.

Correct you are Colonel Fan, it was a sideline warning.

WOW the Kid goes for a 68 yard TD on a ESPN highlight film play that literally every local TV station ran at least twice and all some of you want to do is rag on the kid for being happy. :idunno:

Darn I see more celebration on a TD each Sunday from NFL players and on Saturday from the NCAA players, than I saw on a HS kid scoring a huge TD, in a game that at the Time was a somewhat tight game!

Tough crowd!

The NFL changed its celebration rules this year. Hahahaha. #2 made a good run after #7 impromptu pass to avoid the sack. The move was in response to the Desales player touchdown which I didn’t care either way. I was unsure about the flag call since it was made after the extra point.

I know this is going to sound petty but Fox19 showed #2's long run on the highlight show. Shook my head with the gesture made when crossing the goal line. You've been there many times before so a Usain Bolt gesture shouldn't be necessary. I'm sure I'll get killed for this opinion but I didn't like the showboating.

He acted like he crossed a finish line in a race, which it was...what's the big flippin' deal??

Do the kids still say hizzy?? :idunno:

Anyway, I took in my 1st CovCath game in a long, long time. Way before any of the new construction had even started, I watched a hard fought game between CovCath and Highlands with the Bluebirds coming out on top.

Some opening observations:

-Can't wait to see the campus when the millions are finished being spent. It is going to be beautiful.

-Beautiful gate entrance...kind of ruined by the folding table outside with ticket sellers. Couldn't throw a box office off to the left of the gate?

-The brick facade is gorgeous! And the CovCath emblem in the concrete is very, very classy.

-No garbage cans...anywhere. Had to walk halfway to Agnes to throw away a cup I brought into the stadium, by the way. I can only assume alcohol is allowed at the games given the fact no less than 4 adult volunteers looked right at my cup and didn't ask me to discard it before entering.

-Walked in and almost immediately went deaf. The pre-game music is WAY TOO LOUD!!!! No wonder your neighbors hate you.

-The lights were stunning! Never seen LED lights at a stadium. Their ability to light the field ONLY and not the surrounding neighborhoods is astounding. And they made zero noise. Very impressive.

-Good size crowd with high enthusiasm.

As for the game, really liked what I saw from CovCath. Was real impressed with the moxy Mayer showed. the earlier poster was absolutely correct, he was certainly off on his long toss tonight. He had one dropped pass, a beauty to #11 on a slant that would have been 6 easy. He also had #11 and #13 running down the field wide open on another sure 6 and they ran into each other trying to catch the ball. #13 got an education on the sideline after the play. Hopefully that doesn't happen again. He did overthrow two wide open receivers that again, got behind the secondary and would have easily put 6 on the board.

SFDS had like 2 guys that could do anything, #1 and #6. They were overmatched both in talent and depth. CovCath had to have 20-30 more dudes on the sideline than SFDS.

Good luck to the Colonels the rest of the way. They suffered many rough years, would love to see them have a shot at a title again.

I hadn't seen it, but does Casey run track? The repetition of legging out a long sprint, and extending across the finish gets ENGRAINED into sprinters. Was that what you were talking about? Or something after?

The kid is a great kid- nothing wrong with that on a great play full of emotion after incredible run. Great run has a great team attitude and to say anything other than that is pathetic!

Cast plays baseball.

This is the year Cov Catholic could hang with any team in the state.

Good luck on your quest in becoming an elite program like HHS....26 is a high number to reach.

Thanks man! How's your season going?

Not saying it was right, but I was told he was mocking the score that Desales had when their player did the same exact thing a quarter earlier.

Yes-the DeSales kid did it on their long TD run. It didn't bother me.

I don’t play anymore.
