Johnson Central vs. Greenup County

Success in sports is cyclical, and Ashland will surely once again have its day. It will give the grandchildren something to look forward to!!

Yeah it's a shame Ashland hasn't had any success over the past few years. The 9 win seasons just aren't gonna cut it much longer!

Tonight is the Ms. Apple Blossom pagent, and the past few years the hall ways have been covered with signs and posters. All saying something about beating Paintsville in the apple bowl. Since that game has already been played, I am curious to see if the students will do that for this friday nights game. In all honesty, this game is bigger than the apple bowl, with a win friday night JC should clinch some home play-off games.

I don't see this game as a close one. If JC is as good as everyone is saying they are, then they should beat GC by at least 7 touchdowns.

[That would be a good idea... a bluegrasspreps.com reunion at the JC vs. Ashland game.

My three year old twins actually act older than some of you all on here. It's just a game guys. Why can't we all just get along?

Isn't October 20 late in the year for Johnson Central to be playing their first game of the season?;):D :sssh:

Note: it's a joke, I am NOT an Ashland fan.

True this should be Johnson Centrals first test. I think that JC's schedule is a little weak BUT I also believe that it looks so much easier because JC is that good. The starting D has only allowed 3 TD's this entire year and the offense is as balanced and deep at every position as any team that I have every seen in this area. I hate the fact that we will have wait til Oct. 20th before this team possibly gets that defining win but hopefully that will change next year with the chance to add so many non-district games. Hopefully we can add some of the local powers to the schedule to keep the drive times down cause everyone knows that the new district alignment is going to provide plenty of that.

JC WILL NOT over look Greenup County. There is no way Matney and his staff will let that happen. This game is a perfect example of what Matney has said since he has been at JC... we arent here to beat Paintsville, we are here to win a state title. And this game is one step in that direction.

He said after the Apple Bowl that there was a team coming down in 3 weeks that he really wants to beat(Ashland) some might take this as him overlooking Greenup Co. Personally, I don't think it matters if they are looking ahead or not, all this means is that the score won't be as bad as it potentially could be.

Frankly, I'm not convinced that Ashland and / or Mason will be much of a test -- but I guess we'll find out.

As for this game, I can't imagine there is any way that JC is caught looking ahead here. They know they have a chance to do something special this year (10-0 regular season), I'm sure they'll be focused (enough:D ) on the task at hand.

Where did I once say anything directed toward Johnson Central? I was just responding to the other posters comment on "Ashland one day being succesful" again. I dont know, nor care what school they support.

Just for the record, threats on someone with bodily harm, however veiled, will absolutely NEVER be tolerated on BGP. Please keep that in mind. That is ridiculous.

I must have missed that comment.

Maybe JC can change that next year.
