I would think that it is reasonable to believe that both parties were well aware of Foley's indiscretions. The Republicans hoped to keep it quiet at least until after the election., The Democrats held it until an opportune time for strictly political purposes.

 

The sad fact is that neither party cares one iota about the page/pages. Both merely play the politics. Of course, the same can be said about all of our issues from the war to social security to abortion to whatever else you wish to mention.

I cannot believe that Hastert's response when asked if he knew about this in any conversations last year, "I don't remember!" WHAT? He doesn't remember if someone cam to him and mentioned that Foley has sent these emails to a 16 year old page? COME ON! EITHER YES OR NO! The ball was in his court, and it looks like he did nothing, for political reasons.

 

This is one time I will applaud Geoff Davis for doing the right thing, for once, he gave back all money he received from Foley. It's a no brainer.

 

There is no way to spin this, anyone who is in office or running for office needs to condemn this, and not back him up or say it's JUST inappropriate emails, if not vote them out, and for those who knew about it and did nothing, they need to go as well!

I hope you are also targeting any democrats who may have known about this and held onto the information for political purposes. I think everyone who knew about this and kept it quiet should lose their jobs at the minimum.
