October 4, 200620 yr Lets toss Newt in there. 3 affairs and left his first wife dying of cancer to marry number 2. What a guy. At least he did the paperwork. Is that the same as sleeping with a 16 year old campaign worker and getting your sentence commuted by Clinton? Not hardly.
October 4, 200620 yr And how old was Monica? Sure wasn't 18 was she? She was an adult. Hmmm The fact is, the most conservative groups are calling for his Hasterts head, I do believe that is the republican strong hold? If they are up in arms about this and calling for Hastert to quit, then something is wrong. Some of you really need to do some Googling tonight, as I pointed out, the most conservative groups of the republican party are the ones saying Hastert has to go. Hannity kept referring to Monica as a teenager even after one of his conservative listners reminded him that she was 22. Big Diffrence. When I was sixteen i still thought girls had cooties. By the time I was 22 I was out of the service for two years and married. Guess cooties aren't so bad. But if you can't believe Hannity on the little lies you sure as can't trust him on the big issues.
October 4, 200620 yr And how old was Monica? Sure wasn't 18 was she? She was an adult. HmmmAnd how married was Clinton? How does an attorney with any character at all justify suborning perjury? How does a weasel that had an affair with a young intern in the oval office; lied to all of America, Congress and Federal Prosecuters; urged others to lie under oath; was multiply accused of rape and sexual misconduct; and was ultimately impeached remain the most influential Democrat in the world? Says a lot about the moral integrity of the Democrat party.

October 4, 200620 yr Yeah, Al Franken, Bill Maher and Jon Stewart are the real voices of integrity and reason. I think you forgot Keith Olbermann....
October 4, 200620 yr Some of you really need to do some Googling tonight, as I pointed out, the most conservative groups of the republican party are the ones saying Hastert has to go.I'll show you a little bit of what Mr. Google revealed: Republican Bob Packwood was a Senator from Oregon who resigned following "allegations" of sexual harassment. No actual affair, just accusations of harassment. He's gone. Clarence Thomas was accused of sexual harassment by Anita Hill. Democrats elevated her to near sainthood, but the multiple women who accused Clinton of actually committing rape were made out by Democrats as "trailer park bimbos." Had it not been for numerous female coworkers coming to his aid, e would have never been confirmed. No one has said that Mark Foley actually had physical contact with any pages, but he did communicate some very inappropriate and offensive suggestions. IMO he's a weasel, and deserves any punishment he may receive. Bottom line, he's gone Let’s look at a recap of some prominent Democrats shall we? Bill Clinton Had an affair with a young intern. Lied to all America, Congress, Prosecuters. Suborned perjury. Multiply accused of rape and sexual misconduct. Impeached. Remains the most influential Democrat in the world. Mel Reynolds Served in the House 1993 to 1995 Indicted for having sex with a 16-year-old campaign volunteer in August 1994. Was re-elected in November 1994 Was convicted on 12 counts of sexual assault, obstruction of justice and solicitation of child pornography in August 1995. Was convicted on 15 unrelated counts of bank fraud and lying to SEC investigators in April 1997. Served 8.5 years of 11.5 year sentence, before remaining three years were commuted by Bill Clinton. Barney Frank Allowed Steve Gobie to run a male prostitution ring from his apartment. Used his congressional office to fix 33 of Gobie's parking tickets. In 1990, the House voted to reprimand Frank after his love industry was made public. Frank was reelected in 1990, and is still serving as representative of Massachusetts's 4th congressional district. Gerry Studds Had an affair with a 17 year-old male page. Was censured by the house. Went on to earn reelection five additional terms. Tip O’Neil Speaker of the House from 1977 – 1987 at the time Gerry Studds affair with the 17 year-old male intern became public in 1983. Kept his job another four years until he decided to retire and do a guest appearance on Cheers.
October 4, 200620 yr An honest appraisal begs the question, "How did Mel Reynolds fall through the cracks?"
October 4, 200620 yr If I were a poker player, I'd choose to play with all Democrats. They over play every hand.
October 4, 200620 yr I think you forgot Keith Olbermann.... And Chris Matthews, and pretty much everybody at CNN, and Katie Couric, and Dan Rather, and heck even Barbara Streisand and Alec Baldwin. It's been fun, but I have to knock off for the night. Big day tomorrow.

You forgot: Senator Bob Packwood - Republican, misconduct Congressman Henry Hyde- Republican, married and had a 5 year affair with a married hair dresser, Cherrie Snodgrass.- did not step down Congressman Bob Livingston- Republican, adultery Mayor Jim West-Spokane Republican, ran on anti gay agenda but was gay himself - did not step down Strom Thurman- Rebublican, had an child with a 15 year old black girl, did not step down. Republican Party Chairman Sam West- caught dressing as a woman. Congressman Ed Schrock- Republican, child molestation Jimmy Swaggart- Pastor and Major Republican contributor, infildelity. There are a bunch more, but you get my point. You guys have a ton of skeletons in your closet.
October 4, 200620 yr The fact is, the most conservative groups are calling for his Hasterts head, I do believe that is the republican strong hold? If they are up in arms about this and calling for Hastert to quit, then something is wrong.. Passing judgement before all facts are known is wrong regardless from where the calls are coming. Also, I doubt that there are significant numbers of conservatives who are calling for Hastert's ouster as you seem to indicate. I'm sure you can find a few but most conservative's that I have heard are either defending Hastert or adopting a wait-and-see attitude. Could it be that someone is engaging in some wishful thinking? Or perhaps trying to incite the people to a public lynching? After all the real goal is to put Democrats back in power isn't it?
October 4, 200620 yr Let’s look at a recap of some prominent Democrats shall we? You forgot Gary Condit, Gary Hart, and Ted Kennedy.

October 4, 200620 yr There is a huge difference when adults are involved. It doesn't make it right, but it does make it different. They are just trying to MINIMIZE THE DAMAGE.
