When you see 100+ kids walk off the bus when your playing T or X, it's a little intimidating.

We all know only 11 can play at any given time but yes some school names put fear in their opponents before they ever step on the field and yes seeing 100+ kids walk onto the field if you team has small numbers is also intimidating.

Do you know of any team that owns a team?

I know that Danville only played Mayfield from 1987 thru 2006 in semi state and state title games 10 times and won 9. (I think those are the only games the 2 have played) Danville was obviously very good during that time, but I think they played some pretty good Mayfield teams. I dont know if they own them or if it was just the blue flue.

I don't think Mayfield was ever intimated by Danville in that era. They played some epic games and Danville was very very good back in that era.

Any team that is intimidated by a team name never had a chance to win anyway.

Probably equal. I do think teams and players get intimidated. The good teams and players do not get intimidated. The look forward to the competition and the chance to prove themselves against high quality opposition.

Teams that haven't made it to far in the playoffs before get a match up with one those schools mentioned I think their is some intimidation. I do think it's more mental than anything.

I think the players initially are nervous but not intimidated. If you have good coaches, they won't let the players feel intimidated. I never went Into a game thinking they will own us. I just thought the other team was talented and well can't let up or it could get ugly
