I think Rosie the Riveter was red and white. Not sure about blue and white.

I used to all the time growing up because we lived in an old house near the river and it was always moldy. Still did regularly into my 30s but now really only keep one in the car and at my desk. I will carry one in the hip pocket on bad flare-up days, because my nose is like Chinese water torture those days. Fortunately those are usually isolated around heavy tree pollen or ragweed seasons (and if it's too moldy).

 

Cat allergies were another reason I had to carry regularly, but I'm good at avoiding places where cats run freely in apartments and houses.

Your blue paisley or polka dot bandana hanky has me thinking that it's time to start a new fashion statement trend with a designer colorful hanky hanging out of the back pocket of jeans.

Never carried a hanky, don't even own one (although I do own a few pocket squares, which I guess are technically hankies). I do remember my Dad carrying one, but he stopped carrying one after retiring. Went out to eat with my Grandfather (who just turned 87 last month) while I was home on vacation, and noticed he still carries one. First time I had seen anyone use a hanky in years. I'd say Kleenex has pretty much killed the handkerchief business.

It's a throwback to the cavalry.

I never really understood why people carried those? Why wouldn't you just carry some tissues and throw them away as needed. Instead you put that nasty thing back in your pocket.

 

Of all the gross things on this earth, guys that carry handkerchiefs that blow their nose into it, fold it up and put it back into their pocket tops the list for me. It has always made me want to gag.

 

So to answer the question: no way.

I'll carry one when I'm on business. Don't blow my nose in it, but you never know
