Yeah but most weren't the ace, they were position players first for their teams. Will played first, Noochie played third, and J.B. played second the same year for what I believe as the best high school baseball team ever in Kentucky. The 40-1 Harrison County Thorobreds of 1997. 34-0 in Kentucky, their only loss was to #2 in the nation Miami Beach Senior 7-4.

 

I agree I think that Brad was more valuable to his team than any other Kentucky High School baseball player ever.

93 was the other state championship team, but the 92 team was better, they still hold the national record for most homeruns in a season with 105.

 

84 and 87 were state runners-up

 

96 was a final four year

I believe, it was stopped during the '06 season.

 

21 consecutive wins, is an amazing accomplishment.

 

Brenton Hamilton who graduated from Prestonsburg was 17-0 thru his Soph year at Pikeville when he transferred. I dont know what happened at Pburg his first few starts. Had he stayed at Pikeville he had a shot at the state wins record and surely this record. He was our 3 or 4 those years and wasnt pitching against our toughest competition so I think he could have shattered this one. Nice thread Strike.

Saw a few of those as a baseball player...more than I really cared to. We (Bracken) were pretty good my jr. year and those 3 shattered the dream of going to state. Where are they now?
