Ezikel Elliot looking at suspension.

If it wasn't for the Kneeling he would be on a team right now, even with his poor play lately.
Without a doubt. But the sideshow he has become isn't worth it for a dude holding a clipboard. He literally gets brought up in every conversation about the NFL. This thread is about Zeke and got derailed talking about Kap. This is why he isn't on a team.

I just find it hard to believe that the NFL has information on this case that the justice system isn't privy too. If the justice system isn't even able to prosecute based on lack of evidence then how can the NFL? Makes zero sense. I understand the personal conduct policy and I understand the domestic violence policy. Suspending Zeke under the domestic violence policy is an injustice. I'm not saying Zeke shouldn't be suspended. He should be, just not for this incident. He should have been suspended a game for the traffic violation, bar altercation, and just lack of professional personal conduct, not something that they have no way of proving ever happened.

No one said the suspension was only for the 3 days in a row he suspectivly beat his gf. It also could be the other things he's done such as pulling down blouse of woman at parade and hanging out at a marijuana shop etc. the suspension was for conduct detrimental to the league. That can cover a lot of things.

@spindoc Being great in college means nothing for NFL success. Never said he wasn't good. However I am careful to use the word elite when he is running behind the best line in football. Especially when that line produced a 2000 yard rusher just two years before he got there. Plus that same line made McFadden actually look good and kept him healthier than he ever has been.

He is very good, but I think there are a lot of running backs that we could put behind that line and they would look "elite" behind it.

It's ok to be wrong. Elliott is a stud, line play aside.

You may be right but tough to say without knowing what the NFL has on him isnt it? IMO there is enough to at least strongly suggest he did it so they aren't taking chances? No way they want to go easy then have a tape come of him knocking her out. I think they'd rather drop the hamme just in case.

Considering 6 games is the baseline for the domestic violence suspension it seems pretty obvious.

I get what you are saying completely especially after the videos of Joe Mixon and Ray Rice. I just want to know what evidence they have that the legal system didn't. Why can the NFL have evidence to suspend but the legal system can't even prosecute? That just seems funny to me.

Once again, I think this will (should) be a topic broached when the new CBA is reached. Way too much latitude for the commish office.

I think the suspension will be reduced to only be 4 games.

I don't think they have to have anything the police don't. The NFLs burden of proof is much lower than the legal systems. Same for the court of public opinion

I understand that, but I'm not sure thats "fair" to the players.

So the NFL should only be able to discipline if the legal system can charge the player?

What if Zeke did hit her but she wouldn't talk to authorities and wouldn't press charges? But she would talk with the NFL?

For one thing, the legal system has the Rules of Evidence. No doubt the NFL cares only about the NFL and turns a blind eye when it suits them, but there is always information law enforcement doesn't get and much more information that isn't always admissible for prosecution for just about any crime.

So the NFL should only be able to discipline if the legal system can charge the player?

Then the NFL should disclose that info to the legal system. It's illegal to withhold that information. I'm not saying the NFL shouldn't be able to discipline without the legal system, I'm saying if the legal system deems no evidence then how can the NFL have evidence.
