I've seen mention of a similar play featuring an Obama like Caesar, but I do not think it was the same troupe.

 

I could be mistaken but I believe in NYC they have done a presidential rendition of Julius Caesar for quite a few of the recent presidents dating back to the 90s. I'm thinking I read that somewhere but I may have misread it or be confusing the information up.

The Dems have been beating the drum since they lost the election. How many times do we have to hear that if Obamacare gets replaced people will die?

If Congresswoman Pelosi is willing to say she agrees with Speaker Ryan on something, you'd think we could at least keep it civil and nonpartisan for a day. Unfortunately that seems unlikely.

It was a gesture of goodwill. She didn't have to say anything at all about what he said. She could have just made her own statement that likely would have been the same sentiment as his but not made reference to his. But to include that brief moment of bipartisanship was nice for a second.

I'm not going to argue with you on that. Of course I wish there were more bipartisan efforts in actual policy making. The fact that it's so rare is the very reason that moment stood out to me as kind of special.

His friends described him as anti god/religion, extremely Liberal. His favorite books included the Communist Manifesto and Hitler's Mein Kampf. Perhaps not an avowed Socialist, but left leaning and headed in that direction. That said, he was a complete nut case and likely incapable of rational political thought.

The facts are that you stated immediately that somehow this kook the other day is an example of "mentally unstable socialist," as if that's the only kind there is. Your post #13 painted the nation's bellicose blathering as only from one side of philosophy.

 

I point out, with references, this has been going on a long time where hate speech and/or vitriol has led unstable people to jump over the brink into violence. You respond with no references to chide my example.

 

The truth is that all of the political rhetoric of today has gone completely off the rails from Bandering Liberals left in Congress to the President of Tweet.

 

It's time to stop laying blame at one side and see the problem exists in both parties. It's time for an American Response that thinks of America rather than "winning or losing" an argument.

I concur. The venom from the Dems has been embarrassing to the nation.

 

That said, it's not like some Republicans have been very pure in their spewings.

 

The reality is that we need leadership that can step up beyond the blathering and choose to totally respond on issues with facts, determination and without grandstanding.
