They don't have to. They could in reality have the three teams split in the regular season. That could lead to them not having to play one of them until the district final which means they don't have to win that game. Then they have to beat one of them in the regional final if they both get that far.

No they could only have to beat one of them in the post season no matter what. That's how it works. If they get out of the district they don't have to beat both of the teams rated above them. It's pretty simple actually. If you need more help I can go in depth.

How can Dixie be a sleeper? Put them in the Region right now, as with Ludlow, Lloyd, Villa in the 34th (remember, this isn't baseball, where one pitcher can make a difference) how will they ever not make it into the 9th Region Tournament. I have said it before, and I will say it again, one of the worst basketball districts, in the Commonwealth.....

 

When you say sleeper and your talking about teams just making the region, then your right Dixie is not a sleeper, but if were talking about teams that could be better than expected and could possibly make some noise, then I would say Dixie is a sleeper. All depends on what you think a sleeper is, i'm sure everyone on here has a different opinion. On a side note, that is deffinetly one of the worst districts.

Trame was two years ago. The thread asked for an underdog. Even though most people have HC ranked in the top 5 they are not expected to make the regional. Thus if they do they will have surprised people in doing so which would make them an underdog. They will start a big and physical team w/ a decent bench. They will probably have a sophomore starting at the point guard which may be a concern early in the year. He's actually the key to the team. If he can hit the mid range jump shot they should be pretty good. They have two pretty tall wing players that are very good shooters and some bulk inside.

IMO: Holy Cross has better overall players than last year.

I heard the big boy has changed his diet and he's lost considerable weight from his high of 290. Good for him. Not only will it help him health-wise but he should see an improvement on the court.

 

 

That is if he ever sees the court. I saw a few games last year, and he got in once during a varsity game for mop-up duty. However, I never saw him play in a JV game either. How in the world is this guy going to improve if they never play him? If I'm a coach, and I've got a guy with his size, he's playing every JV game, and he's playing as many minutes as he can. They did this a few years back, and it just didn't make sense.

 

Now, before anyone jumps on my back, I only saw a few games, and he did not play in them. Maybe he did play the whole year and just so happened not to play in those games.

I'm pretty sure he played at least some JV last year, if he's the one I think he is??
