Hard not to call Ryan their best player, he's certainly their top returnee. But, I agree on Sorrell, he's taken his game to another level.

 

 

J. Ryan is the best athlete of the bunch but for some reason hasn't been able to become "the man." I look for Sorrell to be a strong offensive player this season with a very strong (while a bit unorthodox) J. I would also disagree that he was soft as someone mentioned earlier. Maybe he was for part of his SOPH year . However, I witnessed him having a bit of an attitude/aggressiveness in the CCH game which was good to see.

 

I'd expect two big years out of the kid.

As far as Ryan goes, not sure what you mean. As a soph., he wasn't going to be the man because they had Bibbins, last year Steeken filled that role. He's a senior now, and I think he'll have a big year, as will Sorrell.

Seems like you have something against Sorrell. If you haven't seen much of a change in his game, that's your problem. Obviously, most other people have.

I dont have anything against the kid and dont have a reason to but I can still have an opinion on his basketball skills. Dont take it so personal.

He played about a quarter in JV.

 

Pizza, I didn't see him play much at all when I attended Dixie b-ball games last season. He has good size, and he looks good in pregame warm-ups. If you never saw him before you'd think the opposing team was in for a tough night. However, in the games I did see him get in, he wanted to play facing the basket and his defense was soft. He could be a force inside if he has learned to play with his back to the basket and play strong tenacious Dixie defense. He does "look" stronger and leaner. I know he played a lot of summer ball but I have not seen him play since last winter. Been too busy with my own son and football. There seems to be potential there for the big kid, I just wonder if the kid realizes it.

He is big, but does not have any big man skills or moves. He will be a non-factor for Dixie this year.
