June 12, 20179 yr "He's saying that he can't stand Kaepernick and that it wouldn't matter if Kaepernick was a perennial Pro Bowl QB he still wouldn't want him on his team because Kaepernick's protest is something he doesn't agree with" I never said that. My bad, Chief.
June 12, 20179 yr Kap not being signed isn't punishment. His value to a team does not out weigh the distraction he would bring, yet. Wait until a team loses their starter and I'm guessing his phone rings. Kap is definitely more talented than some of the guys getting picked up as backups but again his talent is far from enough to overcome his distraction. I'm pretty sure NFL teams have proven if talent is high enough they can and will over look anything.
June 12, 20179 yr Author I haven't followed this closely enough, but is he willing to sign for a small back-up QB contract?
June 12, 20179 yr I haven't followed this closely enough, but is he willing to sign for a small back-up QB contract? That role would have to be offered to him in order for us to know. Last I had seen he hasn't even been invited to have a meeting with a team.

I was under the impression that his agent let it be known that he wasn't interested in accepting a backup QB deal a while back. But maybe I'm making that up.

June 12, 20179 yr As I have said, even if you are an owner and coach 100% behind Colin's message, the risk is not worth the reward. 1) He is now just so-so skill/talent wise, on par with other backups. 2) If he does not play, you are coming under fire from the likes of Shaun King. Similar to the Tebow situation. Obviously Kap is better, but the comparison is similar.

June 13, 20179 yr NFL teams will sign any darned rockhead off the block as long as he has skills that can help them win games. As long as said rockhead plays a position other than QB. Mike Glennon has been installed as a starting QB long before training camp starts. Come justify that one.
