Clay Travis Offers Shaun King $50K to Prove He's Black

Featured Replies

The he's not very good part has been proven to be false. Is he great? No. Is he good enough to be a starter for a team in 2017? Absolutely. Just say the truth. He's being blackballed because of his protest because that is the truth.

I don't care if it is the truth. Teams have every right to sign whoever they want. I wouldnt want him on my team.

How does he make money being black? PLEASE let me know so I can jump on that train. I could use some cash.

What stories did he make up to make money and get support?

How did he lie to get a scholarship to get a scholarship reserved for black students only when he went to a historically black college? To my knowledge there are no scholarships reserved for black students only at Morehouse College and my research on the Oprah Winfrey Endowed Scholarship Fund doesn't say anything about people having to be black to receive the scholarship. You just have to be a student at Morehouse which is what Shaun King was.

From Wikipedia:

In 1990, entertainer Oprah Winfrey pledged to put 100 men through Morehouse. She made a donation to establish the "Oprah Winfrey Endowed Scholarship Fund". The school uses the fund to select deserving students based on academic achievement and financial need. Selected students are deemed "Oprah Scholars" or "Sons of Oprah". Their financial support covers most of the costs of their education including prior student debt.[64]Recipients must maintain their grade point average and provide additional volunteer support to the community.[65]

In 2004 Oprah increased her donation by $5 million for a total donation of $12 million. The fund has since supported over 400 students. This made her the largest single donor to Morehouse.[66] In 2011, several hundred Oprah Scholars surprised Oprah by showing up at her final TV show carrying candles to thank her for her generosity. They, in turn, pledged $300,000 to help educate future Morehouse students.[67]

I have said it on here before and I'll say it again. I don't care about Shaun or Rachel's skin tone. The difference with Rachel and Shaun is that Rachel's parents outed her as white. To this day the official public story about Shaun King is that he has a black father he never knew. If his mom lied to him that isn't his fault. Rachel knowingly lied about being black. She said she was a victim of hate crimes when she wasn't. Didn't she go as far as darkening her skin in an effort to be black? Rachel proved to have some mental issues going on and she doubled down on being black for quite some time before finally admitting that she was white. Her story is unfortunate. Shaun King hasn't come close to any of Rachel Dolezal's issues and if we're going to be honest we all know that if Shaun King wasn't fighting the fight against the police that he has been fighting then not one person would care about who is father is. The effort to discredit Shaun King has been hard and strong for a while. I don't agree with a lot of things Shaun King has said and done but whether or not he is biracial is a non issue to me and the fact that people care as much as they do is mind boggling to me.

If you want to believe his "official" story good for you.

And he wouldnt have the support or following he does if its proven he is not black.

I don't care about his skin color either. I think he is a white guy pretending to be a black guy, but that is not important really. What's really important to me is i think he is a complete idiot and i know not to take anything he writes seriously.

I know. Just confused why you didn't say that from the jump instead of staying fake news about him.

Again, I know. Just confused why you didn't say that from the jump.

I may have been a little wrong about the type of scholarship, but i am still confident he lied to get it.

He has also allegedly lied about an incident in school.

He is a fraud and i dont know why anyone takes him seriously.

I did, read it again. Only thing i didnt say was i wouldn't want him on my team, which you probably already knew.

So you're not sure about what kind of scholarship he got but you are sure he lied to get it? Okay.

He's also an incredible narcissist, a horrible organizer, a hypocrite and an attention seeker who may or may not have good intentions when his pen hits the paper. Whatever his skin tone is supposed to be is between him and his mama despite his magnitude of flaws.

Ok.

Maybe, but he isnt good enough to make a bad team good so whats the point? Teams have every right to not sign him for whatevet reason they choose.

Yes they do. Only a naive person wouldn't know the reasoning behind not signing him.

Ok. I applaud them for it. Everyone doesnt have to agree with Colin Kaepernick. I would have cut him if he didnt stop last year. Protest on your own time, not mine.

So glad I don't listen to sportstalk radio or traditional newstalk radio.

Don't like that , huh?
