May 10, 20179 yr Firing Comey because he was incompetent in his decision making is prudent. The dude has been a train wreck. I am sooooo sick of the Russia-Trump connection garbage. If there was anything to it, it would have been leaked LONG AGO. Everything else is leaked. The Dems just want to have an investigation into this forever without it ever ending. That's exactly what they want you to believe. Things have been continually been leaked for the last few months. Trump keeps on calling it fake news and people that are exhausted of hearing about Russia as you seem to be take the bait hook, line and sinker. It's funny how republicans wanted Benghazi investigations, Hillary email investigations and now they are tired of investigations when it comes to Russia. Me, myself, I want to know the results of the investigation the same way folks wanted results of the Hillary emails. We will never know the truth now. It is what it is, I guess. Trump and Obama could have fired Comey a long time ago. What happened in the last week that brought this firing on now?

May 10, 20179 yr Let's remember that that FBI Director has traditionally been treated differently than most Presidential appointments. For example, the FBI Director is "term-limited" to 10 years. It was often thought or assumed that an FBI Director could / should only be removed "for cause" rather than "at will." Similarly, most Presidents have sought to place someone in the role that has broad, bipartisan support - like Comey had when he was appointed by Obama. All of that said, there are no rules or traditions observed in the Trump WH. It will be interesting to see who he nominates and how the Dems respond during the confirmation process.

But one would think that if it came from the President that whomever screens his mail for him would have gotten it to him rather quickly. Likely before he read it on the bottom line of the news. Unless there is incompetence involved, maybe his staff is incompetent, I dunno?

Why would the director of the FBI have his mailed screened? Wouldn't that take some type of security clearance for someone other Comey to read his mail? 2.) If his office is in Quantico where the headquarters are how can he get his mail while he is in Los Angeles? 3.) Or maybe the incompetence is coming from the Trump administration who reportedly didn't think there would be as much political fallout over him being fired. 4.) Or maybe the Trump administration simply wanted to embarrass Comey and decided that firing him in the most unprofessional way possible was something they wanted to do to make a point.
